So on Thursday night I got into work and apparently a couple of smackheads booked in by the council had their jaws hanging off throwing food down the corridors and running around naked. Glad I missed that bit but about an hour into my shift the fire alarm kicked in, had all these council guests coming out of their rooms expecting some mass evacuation and basically someone turned their TV on in the room and it set on fire, which is a bit mental I took a look at the TV and it had it's wires revealed and a piece of basically fag paper wrapped around it. Called the boss and it turns out the TV had set on fire BEFORE that's why it was melted at the back and they'd put it back in the room, which is fucking madness to me. Then this morning about 6am I hear whaling and crying in the stairway so I go up to see what the fuck's going on and this chap who I saw limping around a few days ago was flat on the floor at the bottom of the 2nd floor stairs. This guy had told me a few days ago he'd been on the streets and someone had attacked him, stepped on his ankles etc. so anyway I had to pick him up and help carry him down into the bar, he was saying he had no drink or food for days and he couldn't see, constantly whaling in agony. Had no shoes or socks on as he couldn't move properly. Called the ambulance out to him and they had to get a fold out wheelchair for him but we've no disabled access so they picked him up like we were in India or something and carried him down the steps outside. Total madness really, feel for the guy we had to put him on the 2nd floor due to having no room (Council takeover in all honesty) and he can't even walk. Have all the cash customers (joe public) gone now Rob.

Had it not been for this thread, I wouldn't have known about this aspect of British life. As some discussed earlier, the hotel has become an extension of social services.

We laugh and we joke about the people that come into the hotel and for the most part a lot of our guests are unsavory characters but I've just seen this on Twitter and I think it's worth pointing out that unfortunately not everyone that I've come across in my time in the job has been a drug addict or a thief there are plenty of people I'm sure like this chap that pass through that I probably don't even have contact with!

So over Christmas, the new receptionist has been a nightmare! I came in on Christmas Day and she was having a full on screaming match with a guest in the reception, his girlfriend had her head in her hands on the steps some poor woman just watching and the receptionist's boyfriend thinking he was a hard man getting in the guests face. The receptionist had apparently told the guest that his girlfriend was bitching about him behind his back with another guest.
Then it transpired that the week before that the receptionist had handed out TRAMADOL and another pill to a guest who complained she had toothache. Absolute madness, can't believe she hasn't been sacked on the spot for that. Then on the day after Boxing Day she supposedly OD'd and all sorts, as far as I know the manager spoke to her over the weekend but no idea so far what's gone on.

The hotel is absolute dead at the moment like we're just packed with dodgy council guests. Boss had a nasty interaction with one today, he'd been sneaking up to 5 or 6 people into his room and enough was enough so she decided she was telling the council his stay wasn't being extended and when he found out the news he reached over picked up the monitor threw it at her, threw a water bottle at her and spat at her. Fucking disgusting, if I was on shift it wouldn't have happened you just know it but these scum think they can try and assert some power just because it's a woman.

Also one guest (now former) went out with another council couple staying at the hotel and supposedly they robbed £300 off her and took her phone. She requested to be transferred somewhere else and they're still here because there's nothing we can really do without proof and it didn't happen in the hotel.
Prior to this though I had some 23 year old girl crying at the desk (She looked like a boy around 15 it was really awkward for me at first) because she was hanging around with this couple (got to be 30s) and the man had taken her phone.
So I had to get the phone back for her and calm her down as she thought he was going to hit her, then later on that night the girlfriend of his came down with clumps of hair in her hand where he'd attacked her and ripped her hair out. Proper scum.

Just had a new guest confide in me about having some mental health issues and whatnot, worrying she'd get kicked out by telling me that because she did somewhere else and they kicked her out. I said as long as there's no trouble it will be fine and if she feels her head going to come and have a chat with me as I don't mind helping her and she looked like she was about to cry at the fact she'd not been kicked out for telling me that.
If we're kicking people out for having some mental health problems without a just cause then no wonder so many people are on the streets, the government's stance on mental health has been bollocks for a long time now and I've had mental health issues since I was 10, I've seen people I was friends with die due to their own issues, kicking people to the curb isn't the answer in my opinion.

Have you been on holiday (or been fired)?
No updates for a while...I drive past the George Hotel every night on my way home from work and always have a curious glance to my left and wonder what's gone on within its walls the previous evening.
Sate my hunger Robert!

So this will be a summary of the past month just because I've been behind on my updates which I apologise haha, writers block.
We had a woman stay at the hotel who had jumped out of a fucking window, got her arm in a sling and she had some mental health issues. On top of that she had a complete lack of hygiene and supposedly turned her dirty underwear inside out and put it back on instead of washing it, she wore the same clothes for two weeks straight and honestly the smell coming from her was unreal it made me feel dizzy just to be around her. There were also unconfirmed reports that she had stood in a corner and pissed herself in the bar, which I just can't believe could actually be possible.
As well as her, we had this woman staying who was a compulsive liar and started off telling everyone she had cancer and she was in treatment however there were no visible signs of her being in treatment (she had a full head of hair and didn't look like she could vomit at any moment) then she started saying she was pregnant, the duration of her pregnancy fluctuated depending on who she spoke to it ranged from 2 weeks to 8 weeks.
She seemed to know every junkie and lowlife going that came in and out of the hotel and it all came to a head one day when I came to work one night and there was an ambulance outside, turned out she'd been pissing someone off all day and she pushed them a step too far and they had pushed her down the steps while she held a glass, so she was all cut up and bloodied, was quite impressive if im honest.
Anyway, she got taken to the hospital in the ambulance and then for some reason did a runner from the hospital saying she'd been stabbed so we had coppers come and search the public areas for signs of a weapon and all sorts.
One of the receptionists also went AWOL and hasn't been seen since, she was full of shit making up things left right and center, starting fights with all the council guests. She blocked most of the staff on Facebook except me and made up some thing about being in hospital and having a sick note but she never brought it to work and no ones seen her since.
