We currently have 20 bookings at the hotel and 12 of them are council residents. This hotel would be on it's knees within a month without them which is quite sad really.

How many of the 8 "public" residents do you think will come back in future? Or maybe give a 5* review on TripAdvisor 😏

Or maybe give a 5* review on TripAdvisor 😏 2.5 309 reviews Excellent 15% Very good 18% Average 21% Poor 16% Terrible 30% Surprisingly, we do have regular guests... one guy checked out today who's been coming back for at least 2 months every week due to work and he said he'll be back in the new year. We also have a businessman that checks in every Sunday and sometimes on a Wednesday every week. A lot of contractors stay here consistently! The pictures on TripAdvisor say it all though

So good one this week, been a bit slow to be honest but a corker this week.
Woman who quite clearly had a drug issue just by looking at her been staying at the hotel for about a week or so maybe two, the council decided not to renew her stay here and she hadn't come back so the receptionist went up to her room to see if she'd taken her stuff when she opened the door all her stuff was still in the room and she was getting ready to take it to the cupboard so the housekeepers could clean it.
The Drag Queen stopped her and said he'd do it for her so she can go back behind the desk, prior to all this though a needle had been found on the stairs (nice I know) and in the drawers they found needle bins, spoons and all sorts for doing heroin and the like.
Apparently she'd also been stealing the Christmas decorations and trying to sell them to the kids staying in one of the rooms!!!

Careful with those sharps Rob, but you knew that already. Do the council come and collect her or does she just wander off to the horizon.

Just walked past the George hotel on my way to fetch a kismet.
Fuck me,about 6 dead heads were on the steps and one of them(red jacket white cap) walks round the other side of the building shouting LISA at the top of his voice.
Just to amuse myself I shouted lisa straight after him whilst walking past.
He didn't have a fucking clue..
Is Lisa a new lodger Rob?

Opportunity to put up the Xmas tree and all the decorations Rob. Spruce the place up a bit, sure the residents would appreciate it. 🕯🎄

Is this hotel actually making any money? Is it owned by an individual (personally or via a company) or is it part of a chain?

Is this hotel actually making any money? Is it owned by an individual (personally or via a company) or is it part of a chain? There are 12 council residents and 6 paying guests at the moment, each council resident is on about £500+ paid by the council so far. We had The Drag Queen in here since late August his bill was at least 4000 and that's all paid by the council.

So on Thursday night I got into work and apparently a couple of smackheads booked in by the council had their jaws hanging off throwing food down the corridors and running around naked.
Glad I missed that bit but about an hour into my shift the fire alarm kicked in, had all these council guests coming out of their rooms expecting some mass evacuation and basically someone turned their TV on in the room and it set on fire, which is a bit mental I took a look at the TV and it had it's wires revealed and a piece of basically fag paper wrapped around it.
Called the boss and it turns out the TV had set on fire BEFORE that's why it was melted at the back and they'd put it back in the room, which is fucking madness to me.
Then this morning about 6am I hear whaling and crying in the stairway so I go up to see what the fuck's going on and this chap who I saw limping around a few days ago was flat on the floor at the bottom of the 2nd floor stairs.
This guy had told me a few days ago he'd been on the streets and someone had attacked him, stepped on his ankles etc. so anyway I had to pick him up and help carry him down into the bar, he was saying he had no drink or food for days and he couldn't see, constantly whaling in agony. Had no shoes or socks on as he couldn't move properly.
Called the ambulance out to him and they had to get a fold out wheelchair for him but we've no disabled access so they picked him up like we were in India or something and carried him down the steps outside. Total madness really, feel for the guy we had to put him on the 2nd floor due to having no room (Council takeover in all honesty) and he can't even walk.
