I don’t think any club have better. However, Mboro clearly have the best manager by a clear margin and consequently our squad has to be better than theirs to overcome this gap. The 'TP factor' is probably worth conservatively about 20% I would say. Middlesbrough's record against the other promotion contenders last season was terrible.

I don't see any better squads out there. Would you really swap Middlesbrough's squad for ours? Really? No. Their hopes rest on their manager. It is interesting that some of the silly people who decry TP then see M’boro as our rivals for promotion.

It is interesting that some of the silly people who decry TP then see M’boro as our rivals for promotion. Probably because they've spent a lot of money. Strange how he couldn't get his troops fired up for a play-off semi home leg against Villa though. They barely turned up- let's admit it, he bottled it. Again.

He's had 100% more than GR fact. He’s been a manager for 3-4 times as long. And when he was our manager you moaned your bag off about him constantly. Now he’s gone you make kissy faces at his very memory. It’s embarrassing.

He has the same number of promotions to the Premier League as Phil Brown and Danny Wilson and half as many as Ian Holloway. Great achievement to get us up but steady on, eh? He's had 100% more than GR fact. No he hasn't. Fact.

We should be tough to beat and competitive.
But I think a distinct lack of goals will mean a lot of bore draws and mid-table level pushing for Play-Offs at best.
We lost our only creative player in Shaqiri and havent really replaced him with at all with Ince/McClean plus nothing from the middle of the park.
Afobe will end up with 10 goals as we wont create enough chances. We have bought so many fancy new strikers over the years but they struggle to get into double figures because we have zero creativity

I like the West Brom squad but wonder if they'll keep hold of everyone. If they swap out Rondon for Gayle they'll have good options and I think Sam Johnstone is a good signing. Is it better than ours, I'm not sure but I think it's close but we'll know more about both teams over the next week or so.

Simple question really, would you have any one else's quality of squad before ours?
I think Middlesbrough have to be up there. West brom, Swansea as well.
We have good individuals but as a squad completely I think were only mid table worthy. We need a goalscorer

Well you’ll like our squad then, as it’s 25% WBA & Due to SCFC(the charity that keeps on giving)that % May well get greater ☹️

Could argue that we have the best starting 11 in the championship (pending departures etc), but our depth is piss at the moment so wouldn’t say best squad by any means.

We need to be the best team, or the squad becomes irrelevant .

I think our first choices in all these areas are looking very good at Champ Level - Pieters, Shawcross/BMI, Afobe respectively. The issue would come with any injuries to those so we do need more depth to have a really great squad. That's especially the case in the centre back position because we can't rely on Shawcross being fit any more. I also think it's too soon to comment on how good our squad is until after the window shuts. We've done a great job tying down Allen & Bauer, but a few disappointing late exits could still happen. Our first eleven might still lack this 15+ goals man in my opinion, but we have players that could surprise us of course. Defensively I really think we are threadbare to be honest as we have no decent replacement in central defence, except Cameron, nor at left back. Even Cameron is better than most in the division. The Championship is littered with dog shit footballers.

One striker away from a promising team Afobe will score a hat full with the right service and our back up strikers will do a good job with the the right service.

You can have the best squad in the league and still finish way down the table. Except they will have just proven that despite opinions, they were not the best squad in the division (obviously barring some catastrophic event that lays half the team low for most of the season)
