Three cheers for Berahino. After a significant period of time where he has completely disrespected two different football clubs (employers paying him a good salary) and their supporters (whilst not forgetting his contribution to our relegation) he’s had a lightbulb moment. We could all sing a Saido song if his actions turn out to be better than his words. How about the Boothen roaring him on with “For he’s a jolly good fellow” Will you be cheering his goals...? Absolutely, it’s just there haven’t been any.

Well we've waited fucking long enough. Forgive me for saying I'll believe it when I see it. As far as I’m concerned, Berahino needs to shut his gob and let his boots do his talking!

He shouldn't play for us again. Makes us be mugs if we do. Takes years wages & does fuck all. So we gonna reward his lazy disgraceful behaviour & say it's ok. Can't believe there willl be supporters cheering his name. Second chance, he's already had 6. Time to stop shaming the club further. This is why we got relegated. Lack of training but lot of squad & you can't blame them thinking, 'well if he's getting away with it, I will too' Hear hear If he had grafted and been unlucky , then a very different story But he hid from the ball and every 50 /50 v Coventry city ffs If you don't have the belief to go out and do your job against a league 2 team , then you shouldn't be at a club like Stoke city

Yup, also valid as far as he's concerned. I don't think there would be many other professions in which you could underperform to such an extent and still be in a job (all the while picking up a wage most people could only dream about).

Advantages of keeping Beharinho - None
Disadvantages of keeping Beharinho
- 70k/week wages (= staff overhead) = 4m/year - Sends message to younger players that unprofessionalism is tolerated, even indulged. ("Be a victim to get attention.") - Sends message to rest of the team/ squad that your standards can be base without repercussions - Sends message to possible transfer targets that our club lacks ambition and a winning mentality - Distracts coaching staff / manager ... (and tea ladies) from activities that could contribute. - Distracts the team/squad by being a subject of jokes/banter/gossip/titilation - Denies a young (or indeed a useful older) player a squad place - Reduces brand value and diminishes the stature of the club through association with prostitution, drugs and general juvenile behaviour et al - Delays him getting the treatment he needs for his mental and emotional problems - Adds pressure to Board and senior management already accused of bad judgement - Threatens to bring further future shame on the club, due to erratic delinquent tendancies, which could distract from the season - Gives opposing fans a source of humour and mockery, which affects the emotions of the team during games

Its all about the team. Even if we have a great season, we'll probably lose 10 games and some will hurt, so we will need to "bounce" after each one and have mental strength and the team will need trust in each other. Beharinho risks that. That's enough to say I wouldn't want him near the club. So, in order of preference. 1. Give him to someone or anyone, with a 2m pay off, to offer a fresh start to him and the club. 2. Loan to Celtic/Asian or Middle Eastern club/ European club (aka Imbula) to get some of his wages paid 3. As above, to a lower level club, to get a little bit of his wages paid. 4. Send him on loan to a L2 club until January to prove his attitude - with an accompanying round of therapy and support - and tell him that's how he will prove himself 5. Simply leave him out of every activity/ inc training etc. Hope that he caves in and accepts any of 1-4 above. My statement, within the club at least, would be that he has let us let himself and the club down and he now needs to demonstrate he is capable, willing etc to play for Stoke again. Presently, he isn't. And not, "isn't he looking sharp in the 5 sides.. what a good boy."

Any reasons to keep him then? We don't have any choice. Don't disagree. Its rather like the Wolves charade with O'Hara and Roger Johnson some years ago - except they were remotely useful footballers. Millstones that helped take them into the third tier. Option #5 then..... before Sept 2018 - last game for Stoke Dec 2018 - fined for missing training. Banished to U23s Mar 2019 - Says sorry. New start etc. Repeat above June 2022 - contract expires leaves club Sept 2022 - joins Walsall Jan 2022 - Sacked after altercation with staff Feb 2022 - joins Bilston Town on pay as you play June 2022 - released July 2023 - arrested for possession and assault. 6mth suspended sentence Dec 2026 - re-arrested for assault and drink-driving. Banned from driving. 3 mth sentence Nov 2027 - declared bankrupt after betting debts tallied 50k Mar 2029 - Sun run an article of him - 17 stone - recluse etc
Jun 2030 - Last Oatcake post reported which expresses hope he is coming back.

Distinction drawn between players who either did not receive clarity of direction or lost form or probably weren't good enough; and someone who didn't know what day a critical match was. Not exactly a one off... Cheated on fiance with prostiute during the season too, in the news for another affair. History includes being arrested for drink-driving at 110mph, then a year or so later sent snapchats on his phone on the motorway, turned up overweight in 2017... am sure he would have muttered some "sorrys" then too. Can you spot the difference? Unobservant fuck.

Or just gullible? a) he "turned up early".... that's a good one :-) b,c,e,) he made it believable by a string of tawdry antics going back years. All pure fabrication? Why didn't he sue? (1/18 Cheats on finance, 2/18 Smuggled lover into his home, 4/18 arrived late (or are you going to tell me he actually arrived early for the following game?), 5/18 In paper for bedding a mum... all during a club crisis. Previously in the news for cheating in 2013. d) Completely irresponsible act for which he was banned - and then repeated it and fined on the second occasion. Depicting (i) moronic stupidity, (ii) further stupidity to not learn his lesson... He was playing Pokeman on a motorway for f**s sake! ...previously hit by his own team mate, banned for recreational drugs that also weren't his fault... I get that some of this might have been sensationalised, individual transgressions unfairly represented, but the serial way he puts himself in positions like this is rank stupidity.... Also, along with the drink driving... along with the apologies to WB fans in 2017... along with being overweight and unready to play for us and for WB.... he also demonstrates the learning capacity of a toothbrush. Give up, he's a shitstain.

Advantages of keeping Beharinho - None Disadvantages of keeping Beharinho - 70k/week wages (= staff overhead) = 4m/year - Sends message to younger players that unprofessionalism is tolerated, even indulged. - Distracts the team/squad by being a subject of jokes/banter/gossip/titilation - Denies a young (or indeed a useful older) player a squad place - Reduces brand value and diminishes the stature of the club through association with prostitution, drugs and general juvenile behaviour et al - Delays him getting the treatment he needs for his mental and emotional problems - Adds pressure to Board and senior management already accused of bad judgement - Threatens to bring further future shame on the club, due to erratic delinquent tendancies, which could distract from the season - Gives opposing fans a source of humour and mockery, which affects the emotions of the team during games He won’t be on 70k more like 35k because Of relegation and he hasn’t been offered a new deal

Without seeing what goes on day in and day out at CW I can only go by what I've seen from press clips and releases from training.
He's looking quite sharp and the fittest I've seen him in a Stoke shirt, he's scored a goal (appreciate it's meaningless in a friendly) and has teams mates coming out in public having his back (which is a massive change to seeing him sat on his own in the canteen during last year's piece that Lambert did "behind the scenes").
If he's ever going to prove himself for Stoke it's going to be this season surely. The Championship is by no means an easy league, but you'd hope he has it in his locker to cause issues for some of the less established clubs in the league at least and could be a useful squad player with the amount of games we will be playing.
