What people don’t seem to understand is that if you have people on the payroll who are obviously not interested in working that communicates it right through the workforce - do I have to spell out the results of that? Arguably, If you had to point the finger at one man who got us relegated, Berahino would be right up there among the leading contenders. But oh no, he’s a poor benighted soul who just hasn’t had the right guidance. Wow! Just wow! Makes good runs, poor little miss understood boy from Burindi, needs time to settle in, it's the other players fault for not playing the right balls to him blah blah fucking blah FFS he's a total and utter piss taking, bone idle, waster.

Why is it down to Kevin Phillips? We have a raft of coaches and a manager above all of them. And if course primarily it's down to the player himself. True.... + sports psychologists, all flavours of fitness experts etc you'd imagine Generally, I'd guess people are looking at Philips because of statements like this flying about since Philips joined:- (Sentinel, 6/7) "Saido Berahino is having one-to-one time with new coach Kevin Phillips to try and give his flagging career a timely tonic. Phillips has been working closely with Berahino during the early stages of pre-season training to assess his mind and form." (And it would be logical to think Beharinho couldn't do it on his own, or with standard levels of coaching, given he hasn't already).

Scores plenty on an X box though according to his last reported sexual conquest, he's had two years to sort himself out and failed miserably what makes anyone think it will happen now ? Its just a psychological flaw of us humans. The same one where fans talk themselves into the fact we are going to win the WC each time it comes around, having slated the team in the run-in! Its the same one where battered women accept their husband back for the 10th time, because "hes really sorry this time". When we can't get what we want, but desperately want it, we start to adjust our expectations and talk ourselves into acceptance - or reason how things will be diferent the next time around. Its not about SB or KP. its not evil or bad or malovent but just human nature. However, the best and most successful sports team and clubs look at data and probabilities and work from evidence (e.g. the probability of SB scoring 12+ goals next season having scored none in the previous two for us, in part down to a failure to maintain personal standards of fitness and discipline). If we are not using data, we are basing decisions on sentiment and feelings. But I hope upon hope that we are a little smarter than that and know he's lost for good - and see benefit in patching him to flog or, more likely, loan to someone more stupid than we were. (Explained in umpteen articles found by typing "wishful thinking pyschology" and "biases" into Google.)

I believe that Berahino will finally come good given the chance, he just needs the backing of the fans. Look at Giroud of France 🇫🇷 he’s just won a World Cup and he didn’t have one shot on target. “finally come good given the chance”. You’re on a wind up or seeking attention surely Woosh methinks..........surely?

They were wrong. He hides behind defenders. There are reasons Ian Wright was defending him They really weren't, it was the one game that made me think he could actually come good though.

I am totally brassed off with Berahino, but I do have to ask the question "Do we have anyone who can reliably and accurately pass the ball to him?" Hopefully Etebo will do that, but most of our MF pass sideways, backwards, and inaccurately. Long balls from the back are a waste of time to a player like Berahino.

Robert Huth is the answer to Berahino’s problems. 15 minutes in a quiet room should do it 😉

Decent finishes! Boosting striker confidence 101 - stick Haugaard in the sticks.

Is this a joke! A man under no pressure in front of goal and a goalie who is not even trying. Maybe keV as told the goalie it to try to build is confidence.

In seriousness though, those crosses were coming in with some pace, it's not an easy skill to get your head over them and keep em down. The last header was a great finish. Cheer up - he could be missing them all, as he would have done last season.

Is this a joke! A man under no pressure in front of goal and a goalie who is not even trying. Maybe keV as told the goalie it to try to build is confidence. Why would it be a joke? I assume that all strikers at all clubs do repetitive sessions from different areas in front of goal and various angles all day and every day. As part of the warm up on the pitch before each match all the forwards and most of the midfield, have shooting practice. For some reason Stoke's shooting practice before the game seems to be confined to shots from about 20 yards - I'm not quite sure why.

Wow. The cgi budget on that must have been enormous.
Retouching balls that were actually flying willy nilly over the A500 and knocking out seagulls to look like they actually went in, probably cost the same as your average new Star Wars movie.
That's war chest gone.

But in my defence, I never said he didn't have a(n extremely) powerful shot on him.
Just that he couldn't hit the proverbial cow's arris with a banjo.

There's a lot of effort by the club and players to emphasise Saido is trying. It's looking nailed on he'll be in the 11 against Leeds.

I'm not really sure what we're meant to say about that? He can score in a virtually open net? The first two were nice enough, clean touches but... It doesn't really prove much does it? A striker on more money than sense is working on his finishing. Just take the fucking camera off him and give us reason to get behind him next season.

Stoke fans: "Fuck me, Saido is a lazy bastard - he can't be arsed, couldn't score in a month of Sundays in an empty net".
*Saido videoed training, putting reps in - with a few neat finishes*
Also Stoke fans: "Fuck me, look at him - is this even classed as training? Scoring from 6 yards in a near empty net".

He’s getting one last chance from me.
Under a new manager eveyone at the club should get a fresh start. All down to Saido now to prove us wrong.
There IS a good striker in there somewhere and a damn good finisher especially! Just need to find it. I’m confident he will score plenty for us this season. Won’t be judging him until mid season

I really want him to prove his worth this season. We can't afford any passengers again.

I’m sorry but how can you wipe his slate clean? £70k a week for two seasons, no goals, drugs and whores and now we are in The Championship... He’s made a mockery of Stoke City and his own career.
