Patience has worn thin with him. His effort is his only redeeming factor.....I put lots of effort in, but it doesn’t make me a competent footballer. He also pisses me off with this “what I’ve committed a foul?” or “Messi would’ve struggled to score that one” attitude. Has to be moved on.

Diouf's problem is confidence-based. There is still the player who once scored 11 PL goals in there, he just never believes he will score. That's understandable, because no-one else does either.

I have tried to give him the benefit of doubt but today’s miss has confirmed to me that what people have been saying on here for some time is correct.

That’s the worst spelling of a players name I’ve ever seen 😂

It was a quite remarkable miss. Burst out laughing when I saw it. But it really is no laughing matter.

One of the smartest players on the team. Very rare for a player to get into as many good spots as he can.
Unfortunately he lacks execution. I don't know if its confidence or just a lack of skill, but it can be depressing. Hard to justify putting him out there when he cant finish.

He's always been the same, he had one decent season but soon reverted to his normal self, we need to offload him somehow.

Do you know how to get diouf scoring? Sell him to another championship club.

Normally Diouf needs 4-5 clear cut chances to score, he’ll get more if he has headers. Today’s miss was extraordinary. The ball was a few inches off the ground, Dioufy hits in into the ground and it bounces all the way over the crossbar. It would have been easier to put it wide than over the bar.

Diouf's problem is confidence-based. There is still the player who once scored 11 PL goals in there, he just never believes he will score. Really frustrating to watch him not just put his foot through the ball when it comes to him across the box like that: it quite literally only needed a straight-forward touch to go in. But I'm honestly not suggesting that we should keep faith in him and keep giving him chances until one goes in. This situation with him has gone on for too long and we cannot afford to be carrying players this season. This is our best ever chance to go up, get it wrong and the best players will leave in the summer while the club are forced to operate under tighter financial constraints. On that basis, I don't know why we've still only signed one striker. Diouf and Berahino are honestly not fit for purpose. Scary and disappointing to be sat here eight days before our season starts and wondering if he 'transfer team' are just making the same old mistakes again. This summer window was a market where we really could/should have been a bit aggressive in targeting some of the better young players from established Championship sides and gotten our way more often than not, and we haven't done that at all. The bold is the most telling part. We should have flexed a bit of muscle early on that is for sure, it has made it worse that we got Etebo in so early and then expected to push on with more transfers......I would love us to actually get all our transfers in by at least 2/3 weeks before the season starts (I know its a Carlsberg myth).

Simply he's not good enough. Not through lack of effort though. it's like he someone sent him to Martin Carruthers school of finishing. When a player is costing you more points than he's earning for the team .. it's time to go.

His head has completley gone. Theres no doubt about it. If the bloke was through on goal, a one on one on , in the play-off final at Wembley...Id be shielding my 7 years old face. that says it all. it's a shame but we can't keep carrying passengers.

And yet many fans point the finger at Hughes, Lambert, pizza boys, Adam, Coates and even Butland for relegation. It was a joint class effort I’m afraid and, for me, the jury is out as to have we weathered the storm. Time will tell but it may take more than a season to get back up.

FFS.....a definition of madness is to keep doing/thinking the same thing but expecting a different outcome. Diouf is technically basic and has now overtaken Martin Carruthers as the THE LEAST COMPOSED striker I have ever seen in a Stoke shirt. The only Diouf news I want to see is the same news that I want to see for Adam, Cameron,Fletcher,Affelay, Crouch, Imbula, Wimmer (fuck me how did we assemble such a shit/past it squad!?!) is "Diouf leaves".

And that's all that matters. The fact he's utter shit is irrelevant. Let's have 10 more like him and graft our way down the leagues.

I don't know why I like Diouf...I just do. But, if it were up to me, I'd draw a semi-circle centered at the middle of the goal out to the penalty spot and have him kick, knee, head-butt, face-butt, butt-butt into the goal, if he can, about a million balls every 2 or 3 degrees along the semi-circle every day throughout the season until he quits over-thinking how to do it.

Agree with all of above. He is absolutely dire. Doesn’t matter how much you run - if you can’t do the basics well then you shouldn’t be paid to play nogger.

He's in the wrong field. Someone should give him a baton to hold when he's running.
