So Adam’s penalty miss and failure to score from the follow up definitely contributed to our relegation but Diouf’s inability to put the ball in the net against Totenham, West Ham and Burnley (never mind his total incompetence at pasising the ball to one of 3 unmarked players against Spurs) had nothing to do with us getting relegated? He is a nice guy who is paid £50k a week to fail spectacularly at what he is there to do. If we create 8 chances a game for MBD then you’re right, he’ll get 15 goals a season. If he only gets 3 chances a game he’d struggle to net 5 all season. That moment against Spurs was, looking back one of the worst moments in football decision making that I’ve ever seen. It also summed up our season in a nut shell. I wasn’t laughing at the time believe me but looking back you can’t help but laugh at Dioufs ineptitude. For 2-3 seasons while we were a pretty safe mid table side, some of Diouf's antics and howlers used to crack us up and quite regularly were the cause of great hilarity amongst us. For the last 15-18 months it's just not been funny at all!!

Personally I’ve never been convinced about Diouf the “footballer” since his arrival. However I can’t criticise the lad for his professionalism during his SCFC career, his endeavour and his unwillingness to hide when things haven’t gone well. Without doubt this season, more so the latter part of the season he had zero confidence and was playing in a poor side.
If we were to let him go before the season kicks off I would wish him well and thank him for his time at the club
If he were to stay, regain his confidence and become a useful member of the squad I wouldn’t argue with that either
Perhaps those with supposedly more talent (especially in the striking department) had a % of the professional pride and endeavour that Diouf has perhaps we wouldn’t be in the Championship, but that’s if’ and but’s

Can’t finish his tea but great attitude We need 70+ goals to get out of the Championship. There's easily 10+ goals in him that we would need to replace in the Championship, when those players are in the building we can decide. Great highlights, Arnie applauding too

He ran around a lot in that game without ever threatening to score - an archetypal Diouf performance.

Can we start a rumour in the paper just like these Turkish press do? I’d go for something like Stoke to loan Turkey 🇹🇷 for spare change found behind the couch. About as likely as anything they have put up

Of course this is a turkey of a link - but if we did let him go (and I think Rowett might be tempted), what does anyone think is a fair price? 5m?

Shipping Diouf out while keeping Berahino would rank up there with the most bone-headed moves Stoke ever made.

If we had an offer we would accept it in a flash but he would have to agree to the wages which ain't goint to happen.

Amazing how comments refer to doing a job on the right side lets face it he’s right footed and can run up and down a lot other than that’s he’s shite and another reason we’re plying our trade in the Championship
Another contract extension handed out rather than spending money on a good forward
