Great News! I was sad that Rory ended up at Derby rather than Stoke when he retired from playing - but as he lived there I understood the logic. But it will be great to have him back and it is a short commute which he has done many times before. I wonder if he will be coaching the Academy, the development squad or will have a position with the senior team? According to Ric in that podcast the other day Rory approached Stoke about a coaching role before ending up at Derby.

I hope Gary has Rory walk in mid-interview collect Saidos trainer bag and longthrow it out of Clayton woods. 😁

I wonder who said no - was it a board thing or a manager thing? It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a Hughes decision. He got rid of pejic and smith who pulis had around the club for the youngsters and he was quick to banish certain historical yet junior figures from the training ground. There is always a clamour for the most popular players to stay involved in the club. Of those who've worn our stripes with distinction, the two I'd love to see involved at the club more than any others would be Rory and Tommy Sorensen.

Just guessing but we have been prone to nepotism since Macari and through to Pulis 🤔

I wonder who said no - was it a board thing or a manager thing? No exact details on who had the final say but he was very critical of the club hierarchy and Scholes and Cartwright in particular. Didn't get the impression the manager was involved. He feels the club never really looked after his generation of players.

He can teach bauer how to throw better Bauer has quite a long throw already so if he can just get him to flatten it out with a bit more pace we’ll be in business 😂😂😂 Yes if he can get him to throw it like bullet at the goal, like he did Teams will start kicking it out for a corner instead of a throw in

I just want the transfers in and out get started now so we can see the look of the new team. Getting Rory back would give the whole club and fans a huge lift and a feelgood factor (however temporary it may be) that one of our own is back in the fold. It would be great to have Ric and Lenny involved as well but can't see that happening sadly.
Hopefully things will start moving next week.

I wonder if Andy Quy was consulted with respect to offering Haugaard a contract extension? They presumably work together every day so maybe Andy Quy sees more potential and ability there than the rest of us?

Yeah, expected something to have been confirmed by now. Rory, Mark Sale and maybe Summerfield coming over
Maybe Derby are playing silly buggars with their contracts to piss Rowett off? Either way you'd think Lampard would want to get his own men in

I am sure Rowett mentioned it would be sorted in a week or two at his press conference so i would possibly expect an announcement shortly. He also mentioned he was going down a slightly different route so that may explain the delay?

Would be good to have Kevin Phillips in the coaching team Spoke to someone yesterday who is friendly with KP, and he told him a couple of weeks ago that he was coming to Stoke with Rowett. Perhaps things have changed?
