Great news about Rory but also keeping Andy Quy. His track record of developing goalkeepers at Stoke has been brilliant. I know I'm pissing in the wind against people with far more knowledge of his talents than me but can anyone direct me to a Stoke goalkeeper who Andy Quy improved the kicking of?

It was fucking pitiful when he joined and just plain shite when he left......

...but not all his Derby staff are following him. Getting Rory on board would be a massive for me and having his knowledge of the club surely would be brilliant for Rowett. Fascinated to know who his ex teammate will be🤔 Does it say that it's Rory's ex or is it Rowett's former teammate? John Beck perhaps? Well I hope not.

When Rowett climbs to his next step on the ladder to bigger and better by getting snatched by a current Premier club, and he surely will, I hope Rory stays and becomes caretaker first and then manager. Could happen by the end of next season.

Are there any sons, daughters or cousins that we will have to employ this time?

Seems a very laid-back character. Rowett describes him as "so laid back he's horizontal"

That's good news. I fully expected Rory to be one of the ones along with Poole who were retained at Derby. With Summerfield and Sale already having been replaced with Frank's men I assumed they'd be the one's coming across.

Could happen by the end of next season. Blimey your moving fast! He might equally well be sacked by the end of the season with us lingering in the bottom 3, we have absolutely no idea how this one will work out. You have Rowett poached and promoted to the Prem and his successor, who hasn't even joined Stoke yet and has never managed his way out of a paper bag, appointed as his replacement

I keep reading this but What goalkeepers have improved under Quy? Nearly all of them. We signed Begovic from Pompey and sold him to Chelsea. We signed Butland from Brum and he's now borderline England No. 1 Grant we signed from Derby reserves and he was player of the season.

I might be wrong but wasn't Quy responsible for identifying the keepers we should sign, or had an input? Simmo, Sorro, Bego, Butland? Excluding Hauugard, it's not a bad track record.

At one point only 3 years ago we had Thomas Sorensen, Jack Butland and Asmir Begovic all wanting to play. We were truly spoilt. Butland and Begovic both developed from promising young lads to fulfilling their potential with us, Begovic got a big money transfer to one of the biggest clubs in the country and the chance for Butland to do the same is open right now too. Quy is the consistent and was here before all of them. I think it would be naive to assume they didn't both sign and develop as a result of his coaching. The fact that he's the one coach the club don't want to see the back of screams to me that he knows what he's doing which is why since he came to the club over 10 years ago we've always looked solid in between the sticks.

The fact every goalkeeper we’ve had who’s worked with Quy has spoken so highly of him should be enough for you to get it. He’s clearly very respected and well thought of by the goalkeepers we’ve had recently.

The club " get it " I'm not joining in this conversation to have a go at Andy Quy but I had to respond to your comment that the "the club get it". This is the same "club" that just 6 months ago couldn't understand why the fans were making a fuss about heading for relegation. I don't think any of us should trust "the club's" judgement while the same people are still in charge.
