Someone posted a video of Derby's performance analysis team on the Rowett thread around the time of his appointment and it came across very well. I'm happy to have Carnall and his mate here.

Kevin Phillips! We've waited forever to sign a decent striker and now we've signed two in the same month. Him and Benik upfront - Goals,Goals,Goals!

Gents (and Ladies if there are any),
I thought I would pop by again and tell you more about the guys you've brought in with Rowett. It's always interesting to know more about the guys in the backroom, although it's almost impossible for any fans or supporters to give any praise/critical opinions on them - one way or another.
Let's start with the one you know best, Rory Delap - he was in effect the assistant under-18 manager although his title was 'professional development phase coach' behind Justin Walker who has the title 'lead professional development phase coach'. Nothing like fancying up a bit of the title, eh? It's impossible for me to comment on his credentials, because all I know is that our under-18s finished mid-table in the Northern-tier of the premier league development league. A couple of places behind yourselves, actually. I wouldn't take that as any kind of indication, though, because we seem to progress kids faster if they have something about them. I think most of our under-23 squad is around the age of 17-18, for example. Rowett may have seen something in him at Derby, but the size and structure of the academy means that academy coaches are just that & don't interfere with the first-team. Equally, from what I can gather, Rowett didn't interfere with the youth team. I imagine him & Darren Wassall (academy director) would have discussed things from time-to-time, but no youth team prospect was ever considered under Rowett. We ended up sending the vast majority of more advanced prospects out on loan.
Kevin Phillips - He's had a very strange career with ourselves & it's always been a bit strange that he stuck around under different managers. Most assumed that it was due to his kid being in the academy, which obviously had something to do with it, but he must have been doing something right. He was brought in as Paul Clement's assistant, he remained as Darren Wassall took charge and then was demoted when Nigel Pearson came in with Chris Powell. He has then been in that role ever since under both Steve McClaren & Gary Rowett. He has come under some criticism from some supporters, which I personally don't think is warranted, due to the fact the two seasons prior to his arrival we scored 84 & 85 and since we've scored: 66, 54 & 70. I'm sure there is a number of mitigating factors behind that, but he became somewhat a scapegoat for some supporters.
Mark Sale - Unfortunately, I have nothing to say about him. He came in with Rowett along with Poole & Summerfield. He's brought Sale along with him, but left Poole - probably due to your GK coach being so highly sought after - and Summerfield behind. Both of whom I imagine will soon receive their marching orders, if not already sorted at our end.
The two I am most disappointed to see the back of, however, is the two techi guys - Dave Carolan & Joe Carnall. It was very evident that our game-by-game tactics were heavily influenced by these guys and they were obviously very good at their job. The main difference between McClaren & Rowett is that the former will focus on his own team 100% of the time. He visibly improved players during both stints with us, it was great to watch & exciting most of the time. Unfortunately his game management side left a lot to be desired. He didn't seem to care who we were playing, how they played, we had a game plan and we stuck to it. Rowett, however, was very much the opposite. As was Billy Davies, who we won promotion under. They fundamentally relied on the data given to them & then put a game plan in place to combat it - more of a 50/50 approach. I'm in no doubt you've got yourself a couple of gems with these two.
