They’ve got a few decent players I think Chester would be excellent. I think Grealish will end up in the PL.

If Villa go bust, can we put Villa Park on wheels and bring it up the M6?

I really don't know honestly know what the fuck is going on, so far this week I've heard Grealish will not leave unless forced We owe an overdue tax bill and face court We are going into administration We are going to be wound up And so it goes on, my opinion is the tax bill of 5 million is an admin fuck up which if reports are true will be paid up in 48 hours, the CEO has been sacked probably because he told King ching he was running the club in the wrong way, the reported cash flow problem is not that he ain't got the cash but he can't get it out of China With the problems our owner is having and throw in the Chelsea owner's visa issue I'm beginning to think there is a conspiracy to start thinning out foreign owners in whichever way the government can!

I'm genuinely gutted for Villa. What an absolute fuck up on their owner's part. Genuine fans will ultimately pay the price for incompetence. Unfortunately, I can only see this going one way.

Feel for you mate, hope you get things sorted. And if it helps we'll take Grealish of your hands for £5m so you can sort your bill with HMRC.....

It's weird because, when I think of Aston Villa I have absolutely no animosity towards then and actually quite like them as a club. They don't feel like rivals at all even though, geographically, they're closer than Birmingham and a much bigger club than us and Brum, so surely we should dislike them? Wolves and Brum though I view as big rivals, and West Brom are a rival even though I don't hate them in the same way. (how could you with their generosity over the years?)

Wow, a very sorry state of affairs. Much worse than I imagined (and I thought it was pretty dire anyway).

And as usual the people who will really feel it are the lower paid employees who will lose their jobs and the thousands of die hard Villa Fans like Staffs Villa, who turn up week in week out and then get this kick in the teeth. Get some of the better paid players to donate 2 week’s salary, I imagine that would contribute £1m to the tax bill.

If Sainsbury's had a big tax bill, would you expect the employees to stump up for it? They may be very well paid, but the running of the club isn't their responsibility in the slightest.

Do you think they would find that their standard of living would deteriorate dramatically- you know, a gesture to the long suffering fans? You are right in that it won’t happen but as much as the way that the club has been run that lot on the pitch haven’t helped- premier ship wages while playing football of less than top 3 Championship standard. Not their fault that they get paid those wages, but read this board and see how many people want players who will play for the shirt, show passio and commitment to the cause. Your reading of the situation is 100% correct- players don’t give a f...!

I understand the sentiment of your post, but with regards this debt, it's reported it's an un paid Payroll tax bill, so thats the Tax & NI that all the employees have had stopped out of their wages that the club hasn't passed over to HMRC, and you want some of them to pay it again. We all hate paying the tax man, try getting someone pay it twice

I just don’t know what sort of society can justify paying any sports person more than it pays its teachers, doctors etc (I am neither of these professions). I would like the job of hangman and these poseurs would be right up there on my hit list grrr!👹👹

While I agree with you that players don’t have passion for their club and see the current club they play for as simply an employer,(which they are), I think you’re missing Yes’ point. Just because an employee with a job title of “player” happens to get a good salary, why on earth would they be expected to contribute any of their wages to their employer. Why not ask the janitor to also donate 2 weeks wages. Jeez! Janitors these days don’t care for their club!

Even in ancient times, athletes were hailed as heroes and afforded all sorts of benefits. If you complain about 1 category of worker earning more, where does it stop? How about actors, singers, politicians, shop owners, inventors, bankers, consultants, attorneys, lawyers, managers, etc, etc, etc. who decides what is a valuable job? Putting it another way, do you watch football (in person, or TV)? If yes, ( and you pay for it through fees, watching ads or whatever), you are showing those who pay their wages that players are valuable commodities. Do you go to school? If no, (and you don’t pay for it),q you are showing that teachers are less valuable commodities.

[/quote 1) In person (ST) but I admit to also funding those thieving rob dogs at Sky. 2) Not anymore as I am on the verge of retiring. I did fund my progress through University though. While I consider myself to be fairly placid I am afraid that I have some fairly harsh views on Wasterels and what should be done with them- and I am reasonably sure that my definition of what constitutes a wasterel would not meet with universal approval. The shower that managed to achieve relegation contain several wasterel oiks to whom I would like to administer the justice of Judge Jeffries. Of course I am approaching an age where I could easily be categorised as suffering from a diminished grasp of reality. 👿👿👿

Mike (Tw)Atkinson would fall into this category on a sporting front .
