I know that there has been a lot of hate spouted Lambert's way, but he tried his hardest to make a sinking ship float.
I'm not disappointed he's gone, I feel that we needed the change to progress as a club. That being said, he's been nothing but respectful to us as fans, tried as hard as he could and unfortunately just wasn't good enough.
Ultimately, he took a job that nobody else wanted. He was dealt the worst hand imaginable and he had the balls to gamble. He came in and made all the changes he could make to the shambles that was left to him, and for his efforts he will always be applauded by myself as an opposition manager.
Thanks Paul, good luck wherever you go.

Not hate, he was just massively out of his depth and it might be harsh but we really don’t have anything to thank him for.

I am not sticking up for him but with the players he had to work with I can't think of any manager that would have saved us.

All the best for the future Paul, things might have been different had he been put in charge atleast 3 games earlier with a full window to go at, to realise how badly we needed a goal scorer

He took over a wheezing shower of petulant millionaires who seemed not to give a shit about shipping the most goals in Europe and left us with a team that tried their hearts out but just weren't good enough.
Nay bad feeling from me.

Not hate, he was just massively out of his depth and it might be harsh but we really don’t have anything to thank him for. He wanted to be be a part of our football club and he quite evidently was the only one with big enough balls to try and help us get out of the mess we were in. He had my gratitude and respect for both of those things.

He was always on a lose lose with the stoke job with the spineless shits he was left with , whoever is the new manager will still have to deal with the overpaid useless twats of a rag tag football team , it needs to be a strong character to deal with these no hopers

No animosity but I'm relieved he's away. He tried but 2 wins just simply wasn't good enough-even with that squad.

Tried and failed, give him a striker in January and maybe the difference. Nice guy, good luck to him! GOARRNN stoke! I really don't get the 'striker making the difference' thing. We create next to nothing for a striker to do anything with! The general build up play was too slow, with zero movement. Didier Drogba in his prime would have struggled with our build up play.

Yep. Real shame it didn't work out. Was always an uphill battle with the absolute shower of ill-disciplined shite that was allowed to carry on. I don't doubt he tried his absolute best and I believe he bought out the best in our fans, even through relegation. The level of bile directed at him here was bang out of order when those largely responsible are still stinking up the halls of the club. Best of luck with whatever comes next.

Looking at his recent record and qualifications for the job it was a catastrophic appointment, what the fuck were the board thinking? Had a part to play in our relegation, a better manager would have delivered the 2 more wins we needed to stay up. Out of his depth, yesterdays man and heading for a job at Div 1 or Div 2

Well I hope some of the wankers who play for the club follow him because at least Lambert tried which was more than a few of them over paid tossers who call them selves footballers did ,thank you Paul Lambert at least you gave it a go .
Messsage for the board .............. do not go anywhere near the tossers who turned is down and stay away from the arsehole in a cap

I am not sticking up for him but with the players he had to work with I can't think of any manager that would have saved us. Allardyce or Pulis probably would have done. But the situation was dire and required a very specific type of firefighting manager. Lambert was never close to being good enough.

I wish him well, he was thrown in at the deep end in the middle of a difficult situation on and off the pitch and you feel he didn't get the respect of some of our so called 'stars'. Lambert comes across as a decent man but football is a results business, and as much as we'd tightened up at the back (less shit than under Hughes), its a result business and 2 wins didn't cut it.

Yeah cheers for the two wins in 15 games, the relegation, the braindead squad selections and having all the in-game tactical nous of a traffic cone.
But you’re a nice bloke though Paul so that’s alright, given we weren’t even adrift when you won the lottery and somehow landed the job.

Think he's left at the right time & the timing will always be that Stokies will respect him for the job he did & trying to halt the mess Hughes had caused. Don't think he really got to see/hear the animosity that was bubbling underneath the surface either so the respect will be mutual. Had he of remained & the new Championship season started badly then he'd have certainly felt the wrath & things become more strained. Good timing for all concerned. Stoke can start the season on a fresh & Lambert can head off with his head held high knowing he'd tried his best.
