? You want him to leave? I don't get that I want him to stay, fight for his place like Tom has. In Collins' case I don't think it'll be much of a fight. He's a natural. A star in the making. If he goes on loan, for a full season, there's always a danger that once out of sight out of mind, Jones will think he doesn't have enough centraldefenders, so he'll go out and buy several more, i.e 2-3. Then when Collins comes back, his path to the first team is blocked by these marquee signings that the manager made, and Collins will end up as the next Shenton, that is a forgotten man. Then eventually he will leave for a nominal sum, and he will go on to be a star elsewhere. Obviously that is worst case scenario. Yes it is😁 I'd keep Souttar here next season and give him (& Campbell at the other end) games. That way younger players can see going out on loan is a party to first team progression. However best case scenario is Collins is every bit as good as we think he might be and he plays first team here. How old was Shawcross in his first season here,19?

Apologies if already posted but did anyone see this Stoke youth player playing for Ireland U17 against the Netherlands? Absolutely outstanding, man of the match and a huge prospect. I was at a couple of games as Corcoran the keeper is a nephew of a friend. Keeper was treated very badly having made a fantastic penalty save

Very assured first 90 minutes.
Got to take our positives where we can find 'em this season - and it looks like we've found a really good player!

Edwards and Collins outstanding. Verlinden making another appearance. Campbell scoring.
Let’s hope they can do it for us next season.

He just doesn't look out of place at all , does he? Thought he was excellent against Swansea too.

Been at the game today. Collins was outstanding. Don't buy any centre backs this summer just play Collins.

Hes a huge positive from today TBH the times I’ve seen him play he’s been extremely impressive, delighted to see him given a chance and take it. He looks like a leader too, hope we’ve tied him up long term

All sounds good, I was a little concerned after the Swans game with the third goal etc, but this all sound promising, hopefully I'll get to see him on Monday, I don't see any reason not to play him in the rest of the games this season.

Assured, reads the game really well, looks like he has good vision and technical ability on the ball.
Was really impressed watching him up close today....

Those of us on this board who are Irish have known about Collins for a couple of years. His potential has been well flagged through the international under-age set up. As I mentioned on another thread, his Dad was on Liverpool's books at one point, and his uncle, Eamonn Collins, is still the youngest person ever to play in the Football League. He was fourteen.
It's going to be a real struggle to hold onto this one. If the big guns can winkle out a nugget in some far flung part of Africa, they are hardly going to overlook someone playing right under their noses. If we are going to keep him (and Verlinden, Edwards, Campbell and others), we need to be getting back to the Prem, and quickly.

Totally agree play him next to Batth now until the end of the season whether Shawcross is fit or not!

I also liked the way he came to calm Verlinden down after the altercation with Clayton. I'd like to see how he deals with being closed down rapidly by onrushing forwards. Middlesborough gave him time.

I read somewhere that the most technically demanding position in the game is the CB as he has to be able to read the game more than any other player in the side. I'm not sure who said it but I think it might have been that fella you have photographed Banksy. He was always very complementary of Denis Smith and Bobby Moore saying they anticipated a lot of potential problems and snuffed them out before they became serious.
