Now match these decent words with decisive action. The first of which should be a thanks but no thanks to Paul Lambert.

You're right mate does that and the unprecedented mentions of Denise signal a bit of a shift in the balance of power? I hope so. People I know work at Bet365 say she's ruthless. I bet Pinky and Perky are shitting it. Peter and John, like two naughty schoolboys being sent round by mum to apologise to the neighbours for smashing their windows. They’ve also been told they’re not to mix with their big mates Carto and Scholesy anymore. Mum Denise is really peed that she’s got to pay a fortune to repair the windows. That is very good. And probably embarrassingly not far off the mark.

To Peter and John
Thanks for all you have done, but unless you change several of the board and the manager and look to the future in terms of younger managers rather than this naff working class grafting nonsense your words are just that, words
Seeing is believing chaps. It is not about just getting back up whatever it takes for me, it is about evolving and having a go and enjoying watching my team again

This is what I drew from it, personally. I suppose it might mean more in terms of Scholes, Cartwright and staff in general but I read it as Lambert will be staying. Which would be wank on a cataclysmic scale. I don't read it that way at all. I take comfort from the fact that he made no mention of him whatsoever. As in 'we need to rebuild and we've got the right man at the helm to do that rebuilding'. No mention. He's toast. I saw it the same way just hope we're right 😭

You don't need hindsight. This started last season. Changing Hughes earlier would have achieved what? 1 win out of 20 for Lambert? We wouldn't have gone for Lambo though if we'd sacked Hughes earlier. Who would we have gone for?

In all honesty, I'm a bit disappointed by it, I was expecting it to be a little bit more conciliatory, am I being naive to think that they might have even said, erm ... "sorry"?
Good news that they're making a public commitment to attempt to return to the Prem swiftly and they're going to provide money to facilitate that.
(As I've been saying since Saturday) I don't think there's a cat in hell's chance that Lambert will stay and I think this statement reinforces that belief.

Well, its admirable that they’ve come out holding their hands up to their mistakes. I suppose it’s a tighter line to walk when you’re the owner. My worry though, is that that statement sounds very much like they are going to stick with lambert. For me, that will be the nail in the coffin of any chance of an immediate return to the premiership Hope im proved wrong I just can't marry up the "we've got to look at ourselves and our actions to reflect on the mistakes made" with "we'll continue to give people more time to turn things around even when they're clearly failing". The two are incompatible. Lambert needs to go.

I read the following:
1. We are getting a new manager 2. Dennis has been slapping the Black Mamba about again. 3. Peter and John are shit scared of 'little sis'.

You don't need hindsight. This started last season. Changing Hughes earlier would have achieved what? 1 win out of 20 for Lambert? We would have had a far better choice of managers last Summer. We'd seen the wheels starting to fall off but very few outside of the fanbase had picked up on it. So we kept Hughes and took a profit from the Summer window. Then when things started to go downhill quite fast Hughes' buddies in the media started pointing out the fact that we were perrenially near the bottom of the net spend league table which would make potential managers think twice. Then we left it until the January transfer was half gone before we actually tried to recruit a new manager, add to that we'd basically blown his transfer budget on players not of his choosing and couple it with only a couple of weeks to wheel and deal and you can see why we ended up with Lambert. No fucker with any sort of reputation to risk is going to come in under those circumstances.

Loyalty isn't something you just pay to anybody though. Paul Lambert relegated this club - fact. Mark Hughes oversaw our best period as a football club in years and there's an argument for him. You delusional clown Hughes sent us down nobody could of saved these premadonas. Absolute clown If you read what I said properly you'll see it was in reference to the loyalty comment. They're defending themselves for sticking with Hughes longer because they see themselves as loyal people. There's an argument for that as his results in terms of league position had remained stable. I'm then making the point there's absolutely no reason to show loyalty to Lambert.

I may be splitting hairs but I would say Lambert failed to save the club rather than got us relegated which sits at the door of Hughes as manager, those responsible for the recruitment policy over the last two years which includes Hughes, and those who delayed firing Hughes. I think the policy of giving a manger time is right and should be maintained on this occasion it just went on for about eight months too long. There's no doubt Hughes' management has caused some big problems and a rebuild would have been necessary this summer regardless. I believe we'd be doing it in the Premier League if he had stayed on though, which says more about how poor Lambert has been rather than rating Hughes. Almost to the end I was in favour of keeping Hughes until the summer and then changing as the best chance of staying up but feel he did end up like a rabbit in the headlights and it was only going to get worse, I am pretty sure we were dead in the water if he had stayed. With hindsight I now feelhe should have gone last summer but freely admit at the time felt he should stay however I was wrong like the board but we may still have saved the situation if we had acted earlier and had a better alternative than Lambert already lined up.

“We always give people that little bit longer to prove themselves”.
In other words, we haven’t learned a sodding thing from this attitude being the reason we’re now in the Championship and will continue to operate in this braindead manner.

How do people get Lambert is staying from that?! It's just a general defence of how they like to run the club rather than hiring and firing managers willy nilly.
