they gave him a two and half year deal for a reason, i'd be amazed if coates sacks him. It would be a real surprise if Coates sack him. First of all PL is a "Coates-style" manager (old-school, traditional and not foreign). Secondly, sacking him would also show that they made a mistake hiring him in the first place, and thirdly PL is a cheap option.

We were ok 1st half up to a point and as per usual the useless Diouf missed his usual great chance but 2nd half as usual we were garbage Did he? It was a chance no doubt but ball moving away from goal and maybe behind him a bit? It would have taken a good header. We were pretty abject otherwise in the first half. Should have at least put it on target the useless cunt

He was left with a squad of players that collectively were not good enough. Slowly but surely Hughes set the club back 10 years with his disastrous transfers and we're back where we started. I never saw the sense of sacking Pulis and don't now. Nevermind the internet warriors who've started supporting the club since promotion and their unrealistic expectations, they'll drift away or stay in the background just to try and cause trouble. Welcome to the lower leagues. Be careful what you wish for. I'm city till I die

They gloss over that like it never happened.

He was left with a piss poor attack and an unbalanced squad with no real quality in wide positions. Has he made weird decisions that make you question if he's the man to take us forward? Absolutely. Has he played his part in it? Absolutely. His job was made harder than it should have been though, and the real culprits in this are about to get away with it massively.

If Lambert's there next season I won't be anywhere near the ground. Boring negative person and football man!

Do we think, assuming for a second, in the realms of fantasy, that we might be up for not appointing a tired failure from the merry go round, that we might be able to tempt someone high profile as a ‘project’ club? Offer them a stack of money, back them properly, and might we still be attractive to a Quique or a Puel? I think that's what will happen Rob. What makes you think this?

Anyone stay at the end? The Boothen were still singing 'Paul Lambert's Barmy Army'. I loved the loyal gesture but surely the wrong message.
I really hope Coates realises Lambert is not the right man. Not his fault we are relegated and things would have only gotten worse had Hughes stayed, but he simply does not know what he is doing.

I think the fact that we're 20th in the league and relegated shows that they made a mistake appointing him. Sacking him would indicate that they have recognised that mistake and are taking steps to correct it. One win in fourteen games makes his position untenable and he should be removed and replaced asap.

Everyone said it was a car crash appointment and we’ve been proven correct.
Really hope he leaves but I can see him staying more so than leaving.

Our biggest game since promotion, the definition of a must win.
We had 40% possession and 2 shots on target. Jesus wept.

I said from the moment he was spoken about being brought in that he would take us down. People even laughed at me and said 'give him a chance'. The bloke isn't even championship level, he needs to go and he needs to go now and he should be swiftly followed by whatever cunts thought it a good idea to appoint him in the first place.

What if someone on here pens a really conciliatory and diplomatic open letter to Coates, arguing in favour of replacing Lambert in the summer and asks everyone to like it as a way of signing it. How many signatures could we wrack up? Surely several hundred and it would go viral, then a few thousands and Coates would heed our wishes?
God I sound desperate

Our biggest game since promotion, the definition of a must win. We had 40% possession and 2 shots on target. Jesus wept. Palace were everything we are not. For a side 'in danger' themselves, the gulf in ability, drive and purpose of the individuals and team, was stark. We're going down because we're utterly shit. Not, like the bloke near me said today, because we've been unlucky all season. We are abject. Total wank.

He simply has to go. Sympathise slightly with him due to the lack of fire power upfront, but 1 win from those games is nothing short of a disgrace, players and staff alike Winning one game has little to do with Lambert's appointment, more to do with the fact that every club we have played, even fellow strugglers, have better players and better balanced teams than us.Every other team has some pace, we haven't got pace. Every other team has a goal scorer or two, we haven't. Every other team has someone with the ability to control a ball, or control a midfield, we don't. Few other teams have the money to spend that we have, we just put clowns in charge of spending it. Wimmer!...Wimmer! Who the hell decided that he was worth £18m pounds? Same with Imbula. Hughes chased Diouf till he was finally signed, and some good that one did us.Shaq...brillant player, but only plays when he feels like it. Arnie, one we should have clung on to until he was out of contract, instead we sold him to one of the team sending us down.We hang on to players like Johnson, Fletcher (a freebie) Charlie, even Crouchie, to name but three, long after their sell by date, then wonder why we are relegated. Sohbi, full of promise but nothing to show for it. Allen, a terrier who wears his heart on is sleeve and will be a massive loss if he goes.Pieters, great player, usually played out of position. Shawcross, to often expected to do too much. Zouma, good player, now going back to chelsea. MI, good player but seems to be a little injury prone. I could go on, and no doubt get criticised for some of my comments, but I don't mind that as it's all about opinions. Although I agree with your comments pretty much of the squad, Lambert said he knew what the club needed but clearly brought nothing to the party, and like his post match interviews clearly waffled Coates over a whisky to what he could do!!! We are down and deserve to be, after doing nothing for 20 months when there were glaring issues , we make change in January that was never going to be good enough and nothing more then a championship have a little go at bouncing back up appointment. Yes we stopped conceding 4 and 5, but still couldn't see out a game and scored even less then we did before.... but be grateful blah blah blah we had 10 years in the premiership but Boy did we make one mistake after another to make sure we went , despite a poor league this time round... Take a bow board some achievement!

If anybody needed any further evidence how bad this guy has been then just take a look at what Darren Moore has achieved in his short time with the Baggies, certainly wouldn't say they have better playing staff than we do & were dead & buried when he took over 5 or 6 games ago, 3 wins later ( which would take PL a whole season to accumulate ) & we are bottom & relegated whilst they have a sniff at staying up but at worst head into next season having cleaned the decks a little already.
