Ireland and Johnson are out of contract too.
I'm still hopeful we could keep Bauer and BMI. And definitely Shawcross.
Pieters and Cameron too.
Would think we could definitely keep Diouf and Crouch too, although they won't be good enough to be starters.
Would think Lambert would be keen to ease Choupo out if at all possible - and would like to think Fletcher and Adam would move on, although they've both got a year left on money they won't get elsewhere - and, crucially, are Scottish and probably 'good eggs'

There is a lot of negative stuff on this subject but we don't have to sell anyone.
However, shaq, butland and sadly joe allen will go.
If we keep Badou that would be huge. His performance on Saturday is the best from a stoke midfielder for a long time.

We'll get 70 million in on transfers at least. Spend half on the new players.
We will come straight back up if we get the turnaround in signings right, we will have the best back four and the best midfielder in that league

The gaps will be filled by loanees journeyman and a handful of kiddies. Under self sufficiency we were one of the lowest spenders in the prem. There will be virtually nothing left after balancing the books and paying the wages of players who won't even start.
Mind you if I was Coates I wouldn't trust a tenner to Lambert and our 'crack recruitment team. Get rid of those characters get a decent manager in with some serious european contacts and fund him to get us back where we were two years ago.

If Muniesa and Imbula get loaned again then draft in two good loanees. I'd bring Bojan back, but that's me. I fail to see how Adam can contribute anything, no matter the level. I'd encourage him to return to Scotland...or Blackpool, and foot the bill. I think Crouch would be open to a move down south, again, even if we have to fund it. There are ways and means of it not becoming a complete clusterfuck, but I'm not sure Cartwright can be trusted to do the recruitment. The two new forward players you mention need to have some raw pace. Staffy might be open to a loan if Lambert wants him as Pieters doesn't float my boat.

Sure as eggs is eggs every team coming to us will want to put one over on us and we need to be up for it EVERY game. If we want to bounce back then we need to win everthing at home. |

I agree no chance of keeping Shaqiri but the club should do everything possible to keep Allen including offering a written guarantee of inserting a release clause into his contract if we don't get straight back up. |

Shawcross (2021) BMI (2022) Badou (2022) Bauer (2022) I doubt Shawcross would kick up a stink - he's 30, not quite what he was and has another 3 years on top money here. And you'd hope he feels something for the club after 11 years. Can't see any clubs putting down £15m for Badou, so that'd be the end of that. And not sure Bauer has caused enough ripples to attract interest yet, as good as he's been. He also seems a good bloke who won't force the issue. I'd be most worried about BMI, in terms of him trying to force a move if he gets a sniff of interest. If I was a smaller Prem team, I'd be interested. But it'd take well over £10m and a long-term £50k-a-week offer to match what he's got here. So not guaranteed. And we do hold all the cards with all of them with their contract situation. We've just got to judge which ones have the right characters to play for us in the Champo. If their hearts aren't in it, we may as well cash in. |

If we weren't to come straight back up, that's a different argument. It's not as if he'd be moving to a club with any chance of winning anything, so would he give us a year? 3 yrs left on his deal. Seems a very grounded, solid character who wouldn't go on strike or sulk. He'd be a diamond at that level. Can see him being very keen to move to Swansea (or maybe Burnley) if they were in? West Ham? We'll have to see how it plays out. Impossible to know without knowing how he really feels. Like to think there's a chance, but we could be pissing in the wind. |

There’s no way a promoted club will come up with a bid for shawcross At the stage of his career it’s not in his interest to leave for less money Probably only wolves could afford him and I’m not sure he would have the style of play for there manager |
