Seriously, the amount of stoke fans who live in cuckoo land. We will likely be able to at best sign one 10m striker, we are not going to be overhauling the squad like this. We are literally going to have Grant Haugarrd Johnson Wimmer Pieters Cameron Adam Fletcher Ireland Diouf Imbula Bojan Berahinho Crouch Verlinden Ngoy Souttar Edwards Tymon and I'd suggest 4 or 5 new players max. A striker A CM A CH A utility man. and we won't be looking to spend 50m on the above!!! We are not in the premier league anymore and we have limited attraction to new players. We are not going to be able to get this bunch of wasters out of the club. What do you not understand about that. Everyone you want to build around will be looking to leave!!!!! it is going to take at least a couple of seasons to unravel this mess. Dont agree. You're passing this off as fact and you have no basis for that at all. ok fair enough. I just don't see how we rid ourselves of the motley crew above, without just paying them off, which would cost a ridiculous Sun of money, and then you'd need to replace the lot of them costing another slab of cash. I hope I am wrong but I keep seeing threads where we are building around Bauer( bound to have a relegation release clause signed in jan) Badou as above Shawcross who most teams outside the top 7 will be interested in. Indi who will want to go to a promoted club. and some are suggesting Allen to stay!!!!!

Why do people think that we are going to be getting " a few £10m players" in the championship when (bar the aberrations of wimmer an imbula) "a few £10m players" is all we got in the premiership!?!?!

Because a £10m Championship players probably commands less than 50% in wages as a £10m Premier League player therefore the overall deal is considerably cheaper........

Sense may lead to positivity and theres no room for that here.

Our revenue is slashed, we have a lot of expensive deadwood contracted for extended periods that will be adding very little. I think we even have youth players on 5k a week I vaguely remember reading. And people think we are somehow going to be overhaulling the squad. I also think people will be surprised at how little we will get for our better players Butland Shawcross Indi Bauer Ndiaye Shaqiri

No, but for every player like Shaqiri we sold on for £25m we could potentially sign 2/3 players for a similar fee and similar combined wage. And for every player we loan out if we get even a third of that players wage covered by the club in question then it goes towards bringing in additional transfers. Certain players we will have to take a financial hit on of course but it's by no means impossible as other teams have demonstrated......

I'll be honest I was expecting all sales to be used to try and offset the what must be near enough 125m liabilities on players contracts?, not being reinvested on more signings. may be someone has a better idea of the numbers?

Although I believe that he's our most saleable asset in terms of the number of clubs who'd be interested, is there any chance Allen would give us 12 months? Being in the Championship wouldn't affect his International career you wouldn't have thought. Can't see it myself Sheikhy. I doubt Joe sees himself as a Championship player and it's not like he's a hometown boy and owes us something I've a bad feeling we'll be taking to the pitch next season with a motley crew of grandads and kiddies It's unlikely TC just thought with his International spot assured, if the right offers don't come in geographically whether he'd consider it. Probably not!

Has it been stated anywhere if our players are on automatic wage reductions in the event of relegations?

All depends on whether players have relegation clauses in their contracts and all sorts though, all will be revealed I guess.......

This. There's plenty of young, hungry Championship players in the £10m bracket that could propel us straight back up if we keep a few of our better players alongside them . The likes of George Saville (Millwall), Joe Worrall (Nottm Forest), Joe Bryan (Bristol City), Ollie Watkins (Brentford) to name but a few...... Seriously, the amount of stoke fans who live in cuckoo land. We will likely be able to at best sign one 10m striker, we are not going to be overhauling the squad like this.
