We don't usually score when we play Arsenal away, so a fair comparison might be to say that if we score at all, PL is easily on a par with both MH & TP (just for this away fixture before people get incensed). On past form, if we score twice its miraculous.
A draw would be an unexpected bonus. (Unfortunately we've beaten them at home in a season when 'lots' of teams have done the same; its almost as if Arsene is conspiring against us).

The last time we won against Arsenal was probably 1981. (1-0). If we win their this Sunday it will be nothing short of divine intervention miracle. 1981 was the last time we won at Arsenal, yeah. We do have a couple of "close losses" under TP. Back in 2011 we lost 1-0 and again in 2013 another narrow loss. ..but yeah, Arsenal away is basically a day trip to London for the scenery.

As shit as we are, and we truly are, we have actually improved a little under Lambert.
Hughes is to blame.
Any manager would have struggled to do much with us. Our players are mostly extremely poor, and that's putting it mildly.

There have been numerous errors in the last 18 months 1. Keeping Hughes last summer 2. Not investing in new full backs and midfielders early enough 3. Not getting rid of Hughes early enough 4. Employing Lambert. Has made us defensively better but we are fucking wank going forward We can argue Hughes/Lambert all day. Unfortunately the fatal errors are all down to Coates, Scholes, Cartwright et al 4. Name the forwards to improve our attacking ability/options; Moting? Jese? Berahino?? Crouch? Ramadam?

Are you comparing points hauls which contain one game at home to Arsenal and one game away to Arsenal? Hardly comparable is it? Why isn't it? With the different games it pretty much evens itself out. And includes Watford, Huddersfield and Brighton at home where Hughes had them away for instance. When is the last time Stoke won at Arsenal? How many times have we beat Arsenal at home in the Prem?, how many times have we beat Arsenal away in the Prem? Yeah great comparison and for the record don't like Hughes nor Lambert but to say they are the same is utter bollox. The whole comparison thing is shit, Hughes had years with the most of the players, Lambert has had months with them. Hughes had them with a fresh start to a season, Lambert had them im a relegation battle. Both managers are shit and both have struggled, end of.

Of course, Lambert was at fault for the missed penalty, the ball spilled into the goal at Leicester. We have been a million times better since he came in. This mess is Hughes' making. A miliion times better but going backwards. Work that one on Poirot. Massive error sacking Hughes when they did. Don't tell me you think he should of carried on

I'm not talking about an individual game, I'm talking about a sequence of nine games that could potentially yield 5 points less for Lambert than Hughes managed in the corresponding fixtures of which Lambert had the advantage of 5 home games. I'm struggling to see the argument that Lambert has improved us, he clearly hasn't.

Not that he deserved keeping only why cut off your nose to spite your face?

As I said at the time I'd have kept Hughes unless we had a clear better alternative. That was the issue, Coates backed himself into a corner by insisting on an experienced British manager and that was why many Stoke fans were reluctant to pull the trigger on Hughes. With that criteria there was no obvious better replacement as we're seeing now.

If we come up against the Arse that have their minds elsewhere then we have every chance of keeping them out, given that they try to walk the ball into the net. Question is can we bag one? We desperately need to, will we though. Too late my head says, I would love to be proved wrong.

Our front FOUR against Everton should have been a combination of: Sohbi/Jese---Shaq---Choupo/Sohbi --------Choupo/Berahino-------- It was shit or bust and he bottled it. I'm so fucking angry we have gone down as we have.

When* No doubt people will have excuses ready for him. Yeah, my excuse is that Arsenal are a far better side, assembled at massively more cash, with infinitely better players. Whereas Brighton, Bournemouth, Everton and Watford, alas, are not.

The only manager on earth that I'd have picked Hughes over in January would've been Pulis.
Any other manager, and i mean literally anyone, was a better option than Hughes.
We were playing awful, not getting results, conceding for fun and we didn't look like getting one more point in the rest of the season.
Lambert was a crap appointment but shows just how shite Hughes was, that we look so solid defensively with Lambert after basically no time at all.

The last time we won against Arsenal was probably 1981. (1-0). If we win their this Sunday it will be nothing short of divine intervention miracle. It'll be more than that! It simply wouldn't ever happen. Even if the bookies had us at 1000-1 I wouldn't put a pound on it. i would 1,000/1 in a two horse race.
