Foot caught under Bego and ankle turned as he came rushing out to try and block a shot. Looked a painful one but seemed to have movement in it when the physio was on and walked off rather than stretchered so hopefully just long enough out to keep him out of our game and give him a bit of a rest before the World Cup.
On a side note, despite the years of disappointment and having promised myself I wouldn’t get excited, as it draws closer I’m buzzing!

Would appear so. They kept bigging up Glen Murray on Soccer Saturday yesterday, will he actually get a call up? And who will be the 4th? No one is on form. Welbeck Solanke Abraham Who else? Assuming Kane's fit for the World Cup, will we need to take 4 strikers? Southgate tends to play one up front. Not counting Sterling (15), Lingard (8) and Alli (6), the cupboard is bare. Presumably it'd be Welbeck who's called up for the friendlies with Rashford and Vardy (although there has been talk of Murray and strange talk of Calvert-Lewin!?) Kane 24 Vardy 14 Murray 11 Rooney 10 Wilson 7 Austin 6 Rashford 6 Barnes 6 Deeney 5 Gayle 5 Abraham 4 Calvert-Lewin 4 Gray 4 Rodriguez 4 Crouch 3 Welbeck 3 Carroll 2 Sturridge 2 Walcott 2 Solanke 0 Welbeck is shite. I’d rather see it given to an in form long shot like Murray or a youngster like Calvert-Lewin than have more of the same with Welbeck who hasn’t had a single good game that I’ve seen this season.

Danny Rose off injured too, so he'll be out of the friendlies
I know Sessegnon has been playing left wing, but chance to bring him into the squad?
Or Luke Shaw?

Isn't Barnes Austrian?

This will be one of the first World Cup appearances (I can't actually remember another during my life) where the majority of the World Cup watching English public will be wondering who the hell our squad consists of.
A lot of potential starts are not even household names at the minute unless you are a footballaholic, let alone the lads who will mostly fill the squad out at this stage.
Hopefully Kane is back. I honestly don't want to think about the World Cup without him playing right now.

Kane, Vardy, Rashford, Welbeck.Southgate only plays one up front doesn't he? Maybe C-Lewin and/or Gray for the experience.

We have the best league in the world supposedly and that's all we can show for it. Isn't the Premier League wonderful!

We need to take players who’ve been playing all season and if it means dipping in to the championship then so be it. Fed up of seeing these overhyped overrated players who can hardly get a game for their clubs fail time and time again for England.
If Wilshere and Hart play then we all might as well give up.

Are there any English players in the Championship? Wolves had 3 English players in their starting line up yesterday English players playing at the top levels are on the verge of extinction. Might have to look at the Evo-Stik.

Kane injured. Of course he is.
So he becomes the focus of attention instead of the players who go.

Squad for the Holland and Italy friendlies named tomorrow. Could be an interesting guide about where Southgate sees the pecking order.
Press seem to be mentioning all kinds of people for the fringe squad places. Seems to be about 17 who seem nailed-on at the moment.
Will he keep faith with Hart? Pope from Burnley getting a lot of media attention.
Phil Jones is injured and has been for a while. Tarkowski from Burnley been widely touted for a call-up. Loftus-Cheek is back in training, but won't be picked as he hasn't played for months. Winks may not be picked as he never plays for Spurs.
Pickford Butland Hart Pope Heaton Gunn Walker Trippier Alexander-Arnold Rose Bertrand Young Shaw Sessegnon Stones Cahill Maguire Jones Gomez Smalling Tarkowski Keane Lascelles Mawson Dunk Mee Dier Henderson Oxlade Wilshere Delph Drinkwater Winks Loftus-Cheek Livermore Cork Shelvey Davies Cook Ward-Prowse Chalobah Sterling Alli Lingard Lallana Walcott Gray Barkley Redmond Townsend Kane Rashford Vardy Welbeck Murray Calvert-Lewin Abraham Wilson Austin
Can see something like this tomorrow - with maybe the versatility of Sessegnon being the shot in the dark he wants to look at?
Pickford Butland Pope
Walker Trippier
Rose Bertrand Sessegnon
Stones Cahill Maguire Tarkowski Gomez
Dier Henderson Ox Wilshere
Sterling Alli Lingard Lallana
Rashford Vardy Welbeck

Is Lascelles injured? Bizarre that he doesn’t seem to be in the mix. I’d take him over Tarkowski.

So, to sum up England's prospects:
All of the goalkeepers are suffering from the 'English goalkeeper in a World Cup year' curse that makes them throw the ball into their own goal with alarming regularity.
You'd think twice about whether or not you'd want most of the centre backs to play for Stoke.
There are no midfielders. Even Championship standard plodders like Wilshere seem to have a shout.
Asides from Kane, who is now injured, there are no strikers worthy of the name.
I don't mean to be negative, but one can only wonder how many goals England will score before finishing bottom of the group.

I am a massive fan of Kane, nobody says it (yet) but we are looking at one of the greatest Englishman to play the game here. He is only 24 as well! That said - Jamie Vardy isn't half a tidy "back up" to have. The bloke is an absolute machine in front of that goal. We have options. As for the rest of the side.. yeah I will give you that.

Tarkowski in too.
Sessegnon isn't in the U19s or U20s - so will either get a U21 call-up or a surprise senior call?
