We have a last chance saloon every week. And hardly ever win. So we move onto the next last chance saloon!

Next match vs Leicester is truly last chance saloon br] If we want to remain in this league we need to earn our right to retain premiership status Other teams have done it - why not us ? There was never a better time to play Leicester They have nothing to play for, bad run of form, internal squabbling If we fail to beat them we deserve to go down If we beat them then we can continue to battle it out till the final game I envy your optimism. Last chance Saloon was Watford, Bournemouth, and at a push Brighton. We missed those opportunities. The Saloon has gone. The ship has sailed. Other teams have done it - why not us?Because our team is crammed full of spineless mercenaries who clearly don't give a fuck about the team they're playing for. Darren Fletcher will no doubt remind everyone upon retirement that he won the Champions League once. He really doesn't need this. It's just paying to put his kids through private school. Other teams have lifted themselves under pressure, but that requires a spine, backbone, effort, and we're not getting much of that. Do we have the squad to stay up? On paper, potentially, but realistically, nah, no chance. There was never a better time to play Leicester Says who? They've just been spanked by Man City so they'll want to make up for that. Also they've got a game against Sheffield United so could come into our game with a bit of momentum. They have nothing to play for, bad run of form, internal squabblingThey may have nothing to play for, but they have spine and desire. We don't. If we fail to beat them we deserve to go downWe deserve to go down because we've failed to beat teams around us, most of whom have squads that are worse on paper. Losing one game to Leicester (who are better than us) really isn't the reason we deserve what is happening to us. We have a bunch of fucking charlatans running the club and we have a bunch of players who don't give a fuck. That is why we deserve to go down. If we beat them then we can continue to battle it out till the final gameIf we beat them and it'll be a fucking miracle if we do, then we've still got to pick up points against other good teams. A win against Leicester gives hope, but it still leaves us with a huge amount of work. A defeat or draw simply pushes us one game further to the inevitable.

Sticking to the facts rather than the hysterics we have 7 "winnable" games and 4 "bonus" games left this season.
As the season ticks on some of these "winnables" become more so as we start to play teams that are safe. The bonuses also have the potential to become more unpredictable as top sides have European distractions.
If we get three wins and three draws from those games chances are we will stay up. In other words we can afford to lose five more games and still be a Premier League side come next August.
So far Lambert has lost only once.
No-one is saying it's going to be easy - but staying calm might just help.
Leicester - therefore - is far from a "Last Chance Saloon"

I'm not entirely sure whether it's denial or optimism, but while Lambert hasn't done much wrong, he's been left with a task of motivating a team who aren't playing with pride, passion, desire etc. Wake up and smell the coffee. We all want Stoke to stay up. Even benji, bayernoatcake and all the other pariah's on this forum, are simply desperate for Stoke to stay up. Calling the deep concern hysterics though is the reason we're in this mess. "Don't panic, we're losing 4-0 every other game, but carry on".

We need to show the desire and determination and intensity that the Likes of Huddersfield and Newcastle did at the weekend , we started way too slow again on Saturday .
Leicester will be very hard because of their pace and movement but if we battle and dig in we could get something
Southampton is looking like a big one to win

Shelvey for example absolutely dominated the midfield. Which of our players other than Shaqiri stands up and puts in those big game performances?

For what it's worth I've been sharing your "deep concern" for the best part of 18 months to two years - both on and off this board. So don't tell me to "wake up and smell the coffee" - I've been telling the barista to get his finger out long before a good many on here gave a thought to warming the fucking milk. However you can't change what's happened - only what will happen. And if your faced with a problem then I generally find the best way of dealing with it is to calmly break it down into manageable elements - and in doing so I was challenging the OP's assertion that Leicester is a "Last Chance Saloon". It's not. I can't influence the mood in the dressing room any more than you can - but I rather hope they don't share the hysterical view that Leicester is "Last Chance Saloon" - because if they do then we really are fucked before we kick another ball.

I get where you're coming from, but for me, breaking down the problem into smaller ones gives me a set of insurmountable problems that will ultimately be our route to relegation. Arsenal away for example. There's 0 points. Liverpool? Spurs? It's just not in our favour right now. The players don't seem arsed, but who knows what goes on in the dressing room.

It's not last chance. Southampton away is more important and I would happily take getting beat by Leicester and winning at Southampton rather than the other way around. I agree. Southampton away for me has far more meaning & is far more poigniant. Beat Southampton & it's game on. Lose or draw & for me that'll be curtains, we don't deserve to stay up..

0-0 draw would be a good result. Go and kill the game.
Then go away to Southampton and win 1-0.

Can Sheffield United do us a few favours tonight?
Take Leicester to another game. Get a few Leicester players suspended. Give them a hard time they do not recover from.

It's going some but ideally, we need around 11 Leicester players, well maimed. Let's face it if we relying on our away form (last two points came from relegation candidates and our last win was October), then I can think of better saloons to drink in.

Leicester unbeaten in last 7 at home.
Vardy with his pace will tear us apart if we give him too much room.

Leicester FA Cup QF'sGuess the deadly duo will start against us next week. It's hard to see us keeping them at bay for 90 minutes, they have coruscating pace and deadly finishing. I think we are going to have to somehow score at least 1 goal and perhaps 2 of our own if we are to salvage anything from this fiendishly difficult fixture. A 'Last of the Alamo' style defensive operation won't cut it because they will break through at some stage.

They're going to be putting into the channels at every opportunity and we're awful at defending against that for some reason. We need to be deep, narrow and strong defensively, use the driving force of Badou and balls over the top to get the ball forward.
A worrying game where we need to be concentrating heavily. Not an impossible one though.

If we get another meek surrender we can pack our Championship bags, I am struggling to find a fighting 11 in our squad who have the balls.
Butland Bauer pieters Indi Shawcross, Allen Adam Ramadam Badou, Shaq then fook knows who!
