Get him off the wage bill. Just get rid. We can’t because he has a contract.

I`m all for giving people a chance but to persist with this lump of lard really is flogging a dead horse - we`ve simply got to hope beyond all hope that there is someone daft enough out there to take him off our hands even if it means losing a massive amount on a sale fee.

Drop him (we have done) and put him on an intense fitness programme and let him know, in no uncertain terms, that he will be fined a week's wages for every week that he does not hit the targets set in such programme. Tell him he will not feature for the rest of the season and is expected to come back after the summer in shape or further fines will ensue. Then we will see if he is a determined professional footballer or just a lard arse who doesn't give a damn.
If all of the above fails, put him on the transfer list and make him train with the kids until he goes (no doubt with our having to pay some of his wages for the rest of his inflated Stoke contract).

Is he actually in danger of challenging Mr Creosote in terms of breaking the scales, or is this a convenient myth building?

If it does not up his performance level, you will be proved right.

Insure him for £18million and then run him over with a tractor? You've conjured up the image of a huffing and puffing red-faced Wimmer narrowly outpacing a victorian steamroller. Which would run out of steam first?

Just who the fuck scouted him, in many ways a worse buy than Imbula. How can whoever recommended him still be in a job (if it wasn't Hughes of course) and I doubt it was that lazy fucker.

How about loaning him out to Boro? Love or hate Poolis he’s as good as anyone for making a silk purse out of a sows ear, if anyone can mould Wimmer into a semblance of a defender, Poolis will. Coates/Scholes should also write a note to each other along the lines of ‘Never do bizniss with Spurs, dah Norf Landan pickpockets’. Excellent idea Pulis has this bewildering principle of not taking players from his former clubs, especially Stoke. I know he doesn't care much about Stoke supporters, and this is mutual, but he wants to stay on good terms with the Coates, and deep down there will be a day when he will be prepared to manage here again. The time just hasn't been right yet, but if we do continue our downward spiral, he could be right for us again. Though I would prefer we never get there.

I've always believed that we only purchased Wimmer because TP was after him at West Brom. One of the worst signings in our history.

What a colossal fuck up hes been. Hes our record signing at 18 million and cant even make the 18 players. What the hell do we with him. The transfer fees, contracts, signing-on fees and agents' fees for Hughes's three most expensive signings might well total up to more than £100M. Your question about Wimmer is probably something the Coates family is struggling to answer.

I think the only way we can recoup any money on Wimmer is to wait till late October and use him to go “ penny for the Guy” outside Tesco Meir Haye

Joe Allen and Shaqiri both cost the same as Berahino, and both were very good signings. It's just convenient to lump Berahino in with the other... lumps.

Sales of goods act 1974. Basically, if you are sold something that is faulty or mislead into buying something with false advertising the person/company that sold it to you must Refund/Replace/Repair. We were sold Wimmer on the basis he could play football which was misleading and a lie, at the very least they sold us faulty goods - therefore I would go to Spurs and ask for a refund.
