We will no doubt play very deep, conceed the possession and play on the break with as much pace as possible.
It'll be the same model Lambert has used to some effect elsewhere.
Just won't be pretty to watch or sit through.
First goal especially vital for fairly obvious reasons.

If Lambert picks Fletcher tomorrow not only does it increase our chances of losing, but it also sends out the wrong message to other players in the squad that the team is selected on merit. Assuming a clean bill of health and a return to 4231, I would like to see: Butland, Bauer, Ryan, Zouma, Pieters or Stafilidis, Cameron, Allen, Shaq, Badou, Choupo, Diouf. I'd go with this, too. Sit in deep-ish, win the ball back, and break. N'Diaye looks like he'll help us here. Not 100% sure about Diouf up-top, his work rate is good, but his quality is lacking a lot of the time. But our forward options are poor, even compared to say, Bournemouth.

Unfortunately can't see us getting any from these cheating, diving, conniving bastards, they always seem to turn us over. I'll gargle my own bollocks if we do them! I was there just two years ago when we turned them over 3-1 so I'd careful mate

Has to be those 3 but I'm worried Lambert might be slightly biased to his Scottish brothers Oh hello - I see someone has found the first Lambert shaped club for a bit of manager bashing. The honeymoon didn't last long.

We need more legs in midfield and more creativity up front:
Butland
Bauer Shawcross Zouma Stafylidis (assuming Erik's shoulder needs resting)
Cameron Allen Ndiaye
Shaqiri Choupo-Moting Jese
Subs: Grant, Martins Indi, Adam, Ramadan, Crouch, Diouf, Berahino

Prepare the ducking stool. Turgid affairs against these seasiders recently. Not sure they're quite so cynical at home, but have recently lacked a focal point imo, the Chelsea result a bit of an anomaly, hopefully a touch of 'after the Lord Mayor's show' for them. And an away game may lessen a touch of the nervous expectancy for us. Best way of countering what they've got is take it to 'em. Hem them in, peg them back. If this new added 'effort' could be used to recreate our early season efforts against Arsenal and Man Utd we'll sweep Bournemouth aside. Create the best platform for our creative sparks. Butland Zouma Shawcross Bruno Bauer Allen Badou Pieters Shaqiri Diouf Chopper
Berahino, Ramadan, or Jese on to mix the front three up. If Bruno's not up to spec then flip a coin for either Cameron, Wimmer or drop Pieters back for lcb. Just a thought. Go on Stoke.

I've seen a few "team" selections with Jesse in them, is he back and been training or have I missed something?

I hope we kill the game dead and piss off their new money soft southern Bastard supporters. I hope we are physical and nasty, time waste, foul, and grind out a point. We may even nick a win, if badou is good at shifting through the lines, then with allen, choupo, shaq and diouf in front we should be going on the counter, let them try and play through us. We need to turn around our away form if we are going to survive and change our attitude in away games. We have three good away games coming up. The time is now!

It’s bollox to think that Lambert has an allegiance to his beleaguered countryman Fletcher, he probably doesn’t as he’s a Glaswegian and Fletch is from Edinburgh...my mates from Glasgow say that people from Edinburgh may as well be English lol so expect a debut from our new signing and a clean sheet

We are their worst nightmare ... they are on a huge high; their fans (and the media) will expect a win - possibly an easy one - but Wednesday won't have given them many clues about which Stoke to expect; PL's strategy is an unknown quantity for them and it will be raining. Do we go ugly .... do we go counter attacking with Diouf, Choupo-Moting and Jese running behind them and does Crouch come of the bench to break our goal scoring record?
The longer we are in the game the more hacked off and nervous their fans will get; the longer we are in the lead the more rattled they will get. They are there for the taking.

Butland
Ryan Zouma Bauer Pieters
Cameron Allen NDiaye
Shaq Diouf Sobhi
Big thing for tomorrow's game is not to be over-run by Bournemouth through the middle, thus I would go for GCam and NDiaye to add legs and steel through the middle. Let's keep things tight for the first 20mins, take the sting out of them, who will no doubt be on a high after Wednesday and then look to turn the screw.
Going forward, their full backs look to get up the pitch - we will need the widemen to track back, but this will also create spaces that the Shaq and Bauer down the right can exploit. Also, their midfielders are skilful but not particularly physical - if we can bully and harrass them at every turn, we can get on top.
If I had to call it, I would go for a 1-1 draw.

Another cup final. They'll be on a high after beating Chelsea so we'll need to be at our best. 4-2-3-1 is the best formation in my opinion for away games. I hope Lambo and Quy are practising goal kicks with Jack too. Jack Bauer Zouma Shawcross Stafy N'Diaye Allen Shaq Choupo Rama Diouf The "i" newspaper quoted the above in todays paper SN!
