Just seen the goals. 2 absolute shockers conceded again. So much for having sorted the back 4 out First was maybe a bit unlucky but the 2nd would have been unforgivable for a kids’ team

So bringing on another striker when we couldn't keep hold of the ball would have changed how we defended the 2 goals ? We had no pace either side Crouch who became a lonely isolated beanpole. So yes, Diouf is more mobile and could of helped in the midfield... But the goals came from defensive errors...

Lambert needs to explain in his interview why he waited until we conceded two goals and the 82nd minute to take Crouch off to add some pace. Shambolic and diabolic. Although not great, were better with Crouch on. Subs offered nothing.

I've said before Harry Kane would not score if he played for us. We lack basic composure to pass and move into space, hence no creativity and it follows, no supply line for the strikers.

Fair enough, we lost but everyone who can't see that we are playing much better need to get a grip. We will get out of this. It's a new time and although time is against us, the team is getting better. They're playing for each other and playing good stuff. Having a pop at Lambert when you can see a change in desire is a wank thing to do. Comparing this to Hughes' way of doing things is just ignorant and defeatist. Are you on crystal meth?.

If by some miracle we do manage to avoid relegation, and that seems highly unlikely, does anyone think the board will invest in the team? Personally I don't think there's a hope in hell.

There's some utter pricks on here though, can't accept that the first goal was ridiculous bad luck and just want to come out with bollocks about lambert. What the fuck is he meant to have done differently, he's got the team pressing loads and making us hard to beat. Yes he could have made substitutions earlier but it's always easy for us dickhead armchair managers to say that

1) Unfit
2) Despite shawcross clearing up the line, we needed to deal with their 1st.
3) Their 2nd? Embarrassing. Good delivery, not a clue why we haven't followed any runners, and Butland has to come and get something on it or draw a foul.
That's 5 huge points dropped now and we'll soon run out of winnable games.

I don't think so tbh.

Sure, we faded and the lack of earlier subs was wank, but overall our shape, commitment and aggression was miles better than under Hughes at the end. We had plenty of chances to kill off the game, but we aren't clinical enough; that's why we needed another striker.

Even a draw today and we could rightly point to been unbeaten in 3 and it might have helped push us on. This loss may have a crushing effect on our confidence and I don't think we are showing enough to avoid relegation

mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no point even depending on other results when we're this tactically inept. We bossed the first half, tiredness has done for us. Completely agree, but tiredness should be addressed, fresh legs is the answer. I've calmed down now, but i'm gutted about todays result

Having had time to reflect, I do think that it was one of the best team performances this season. We were even able to pass the ball in the first half.
Lambert has done wonders in a fortnight; didn't expect him to get everything right immediately but we have an international break coming up which may help. If he continues to improve the team at this rate we will be ok.
Other teams have a worse run in than us so we may be saved by default if not on our own merits. No point being a Stoke supporter if you are not an optimist.

Positive of the day: we still have the worst defence in Europe, but we no longer have the worst goal difference. We are now second to Huddersfield with -27!
And for Butland: Pickford is conceding more today!

Although we fell away in the second half, i think there are positives that should get us over the finish line and avoid the drop, plus the bottom 10 are no bettter than us. I spoke to samaritans too and they assured me it will be alright.

I’m still holding back on judging PL but these 4 games are probably going to define our season. Watford was poor and after the first 20 odd minutes today we sounded on the back foot.
I didn’t see the game today so I will let others comment but we sounded if we were overrun defensively in midfield, and if so that is a follow on from Hughes errors. I don’t understand starting Crouch when away from home you are relying on the counter? I don’t understand why the first sub was so late given that we were under real pressure at that stage and bringing the two strikers on in the 84th minute was too late!
Regardless of the manager discussion, we couldn’t affird to lose any of these four games but we are simply not good enough as a team or squad - that is the boards fault.

Howe didn't piss about when his side went 1 down early in the first half and it's paid off. You mean the change he was forced into? Dunno didn't see the game, was going off what someone told me
