Old Pete needs to step down really, let his forawrd thinking offspring run the ship. Not having the bollocks to sack Hughes at the end of last season was bad, but this is a step too far. I'm prepared to get behind the team, and through gritted teeth the manager. But all the bile and ire needs to be directed at the middle of the JSU on Saturday.

Get real. He (and his family) own the club! None of us are particularly happy with the appointment but we are where we are...and who else is going to buy the new players we desperately need in the next 2 weeks!!! Let’s see what happens next (now having calmed down a bit).

It's time for Peter to step aside and let John take over, let's be honest. Forever thankful but Peter's old-fashioned thinking is taking a toll on the club. The fact Paul Lambert was considered before any overseas managers with no PL experience, and there are several brilliant candidates, shows that his head isn't in the right place. The QSF saga shows that John wants to build a 'dynasty' of sorts, backing a youthful manager to build a proper project, with an aim and some hope. You do realise Lambert is younger than Flores? And on a wider point 'Coates Out' is just impotent flailing at this moment. Won't and shouldn't happen until he's ready to step aside. End of season with a big fanfare. He's just spent his birthday weekend sorting this out. Have a heart. The issue for me Cheees is that he should be Chairman in name only and shouldn't be involved at this level. Let his son take over and let Coates senior take a back seat with our thanks.

Someone else needs to take over replace the entire board and bring us into the 21st century and play the Premier league game. I'm sorry to admit.

People are angry, it's understandable. I think John showed with the QSF saga that he wants us to build up a project and Peter's got his way with the standard boring appointment. I should hope he did, no-one else in the country is expected to stop working on their birthday.

Championship appointment following trying to save money on the Flores & O'Neil appointments - not honourable people. Now don't be silly we need Coates/Bet365 whichever way you look, but someone needs to tell them where they are going wrong. Its a case of Forgive Them for they Know Not what they do. If we stay up, the next thing will be to sell the club and that would be a disaster Would it? The bloody Chinese wouldn't appoint Paul Lambert. I hope Lambert wins us a cup and gets us safe I really do , but talk about a dinosaur running the club ffs Its like the shirt your mum gets you for Christmas you pretend to love it but boxing day it goes back of the wardrobe.

Boycott the games from now on, absolute disgrace. This is why you should not carry your season card in your wallet. in a crazy hate filled haze mine has just gone through the shredder at work!

This is absolutely ridiculous. Coates took us to and kept us in the Prem. Get behind the team from now until the end of the season.

Must admit I havn't done my due diligence yet, but a quick scan on here shows it's far from all bad and his Wolves team showed little respect for us, bloodied our nose. Norwich? Dour or pragmatic? suppose with Chico F it was called pragmatic. Whatever, in our position we've got to expect a bit of grind before flair for the moment. Earn the right to play etc. 80th birthday mate.

Is this the same Coates family that has just given you ten years of Prem football? Some of you need to take a long hard look at yourselves. You're as bad as fucking Arsenal 'supporters! If Lambert is appointed, at least give the bloke a fucking chance! OS. Agree, he doesn't need mindless, childish, backbiting and resentment going on in the background. People on here need to grow up. "Coates Out", the OP says. It's silly billy, wind-up merchant comments like that that are corrosive, especially when the gullible children descend on here! We have a manager, we have a team - and they are our club. Let's pull our fingers out and back them FFS - acting like mard-arses will achieve nothing.

I have the opposite opinion to this.
I think we will rue the day that Peter completely delegates all control to his son. I don't think he has the same eye for the football as his Dad does and if anything, recent events have only proven it.
It is also worth noting that only John Coates & Tony Scholes were quoted in the Lambert press release. No Peter in sight.

Why start such an inflammatory post? We are currently in a very precarious position, facing possible relegation. ALL need to stand fast side by side until the end of the season following the present transfer window. Vent you opinions in the close season!!!

Which is fine for us i suppose for now, but i want us to show some long term planning. Thats what QSF showed. His Wolves team were up against a half arsed side with no defensive midfielders. And we were very unlucky not to equalise and get back in. Easy to get your side revved up for a cup tie at premier league opposition. Dour. QSF plays to the squad he has, Lambert has always played poor football. We might for now, but we've been trying that for 18 months and it hasn't worked. He owns a premier league football club, I think appointing the manager mid season is the least work i'd expect him to do.

Time to take some leave from this message board for a while. It’s a brilliant platform in so many ways and there are plenty of posters on here who I feel I genuinely connect with.
Sadly there are an increasing number who I simply don’t get. I find it frustrating, depressing and genuinely hard work reading a lot of stuff on here.
For my own sanity I’m calling it a day. I’m sure I’ll get pulled back in the future but right now I need a break.
I don’t expect, nor want, anybody to give a shit. I guess I just wanted to explain the reason for my deletion.
Cheers.
