surely O'Neil will turn it down now ? Why would you want to take the job as second choice ? Maybe the millions of pounds on wages will persuade him I am sure i read that he has pride.

Yup. We have no defence and no goals. Most teams have one or the other we have both. Oh and now we have no manager and no transfer window. The things we don't have are beginning to outnumber the things we do have. I'm despondent and can't understand why it took the Coventry defeat to open the owners eyes, just what were they watching while we were losing, losing and losing. Selling our best player to a relegation contender is sheer madness. He should have been sold abroad. I'm not blaming them for QSF puling out on us ,but they must take the blame for the mess we are in and the lack of other credible alternatives. Trying to limp through the season with Hughes while having the funds to change things smacks of short term planning and incompetence. I expect Swansea to go down the other two places are open but at the moment we favourite to join them. I honestly think that Hughes going improved our chances of staying up. We need someone to get them fit and organised and we'll be fine. Some of the comments on here defy belief. It looks like a forum for pre-pubescent school girls. Hughes should have gone much sooner and ideally in the Summer and that's the club's big mistake. However it is what it is and we move on. If it's MON so be it. We'll still be OK. I agree Hughes had to go to even give us a chance even Stevie Wonder could see he had lost half the dressing room. Striker reportedly £30 million, good defensive midfielder £15 million man marking and no wingbacks so at least a left back and a right back £7.5 million each that's a cool £60 million. No way will we spend that. So striker and loans it is. MON will get them organised, fit is another thing it doesn't happen overnight. Will they get some fire in their bellies for the fight is probably more important.

We could and should be top 7 with the money available to our owners so how the fuck we are scrabbling to persuade average managers to the club is beyond me. When you own a premclub you need to accept it will be a costly endeavour but how much can you lose with 100 million income versus the massive drop in the lower leagues ?

The way things have gone I think we should be extremely grateful if we do manage to convince MON to come. If he turns it down we are floundering (to us the politest word I could muster). Yes... that's my big fear. MON is best of a bad bunch at moment. This could be extremely embarrassing. Sneaky feeling Lambert will be our Manager next week. 😁
