It may imply what the Sentinel journo thinks might happen, with a view as to how this sort of situation is dealt with at other clubs. The Sentinel just like the national press want to write the news stories before they happen. Often they are wrong, though sometimes they may actually add to the pressure and make things happen.
But it doesn't have anything to do with what the board is thinking. No board member has uttered that if we lose tomrrow Hughes will be out of a job. The only person to speak in public, which is PC of course, has been very careful not to be drawn on any statement, but if we take his most recent statements at face value, Mark Hughes still has the most secure position in ST4.

All the rumors of TP potentially returning this week and that mark hughes' job is on the line has happened to him before at Man City on 19th December 2009 when reports emerged the week of man city playing Sunderland that Roberto Mancini was going to replace him and lo and behold he was sacked after the Sunderland game despite winning! Only time will tell if history will repeat itself. So sometimes news outlets can be right about whats happening and not just merely writing an article and hoping things play out that way.

Right now I'll swap him with TP without a shadow of a doubt (at least for the rest of the season)! TP would keep us up, I'm not too sure about Hughes!

He'll keep us up but assembled a team at the Hawthorns that have won 4 games this calendar year and are in the relegation zone. You'd get in a manager with an even worse record than our current one plus a bloke who is toxic and will split the club in half. It's fucking heads gone territory and quite frankly PATHETIC.

Good god ... what a ride ... from a team with a strong spine to the current situation . A team of hairdressers ... Pass the gel , Kevin ... OOOOOOOOOOEEEEERRRR...! The simplest solution is for Hughes to go . We are trying to make a Gourmet Omelet ... and we have some Welsh bloke chucking eggs at a wall . I've been down ALDI . Can I have a go ? The writing is on the wall ... our rather the eggs are . It's no yoke, I tell you, and I don't think there will be a scramble for the job if Hughes goes. Maybe we could poach someone from the Championship?

It'll be TP who comes back its inevitable in my opinion Correct. But that is only the start. Won’t this make the positions of Scholes and Cartwright untenable. Won’t TP expect to be in control of all aspects of the football club.

Won’t TP expect to be in control of all aspects of the football club. He hasn't been in control of all aspects of our club in his previous tenures nor has he been in control of all aspects of any other club he's ever managed. Football managers don't dictate to chief executives at any club.

Won’t TP expect to be in control of all aspects of the football club. TP will want full control on who comes in player wise, i heard somewhere he does research into players backgrounds before signing them i.e upbringing, personality etc and this will make Cartwrights position untenable for sure probably why theres been bust ups over the board split coates wants pulis, scholes and cartwright dont want TP cause they know he's not a yes man

There’s rarely, if any decent players available in January - Fergie knew this and always advised against buying a player mid-season. This may have been mentioned earlier but it’s worth repeating: Stoke’s last two big January signings were...erm...Berahino and Imbula. I guess the miserable Scots git knew a thing or too about this game.
