I have always defended him on the basis that some on here have an agenda and stability is the way forward. I turned after Bournemouth at home. From that point onwards I was indifferent about Hughes' fate but wasn't sure about the alternatives. I think I made up my mind last week that we should act now and get Koeman in so he has the January window. Today has just confirmed the urgency with which we need to act. He's a deluded arrogant selfish twat with no morals, if he has any decency he would resign but he hasn't so we are stuck with the twat. I think that is just humans in general. Who on here would resign if they were shit at their job?

Last chance saloon for me on Saturday. I wouldn't risk it - look at the amount of points we've dropped from games like today (teams in and around us). We cannot afford yet another guileless, gutless performance. He has to go, and he has to be gone Monday AT THE VERY LATEST. Get rid before the situation is irreversible.

The only thing worse than having a bad manager is having no manager. If we fire Hughes, something needs to be in place for a replacement straight away.
I wouldn’t have seen Coates going for Hodgson or Pardew anyway and Allardyce would have been out of our reach; so you could argue the pool of potential replacements isn’t all that different than a few weeks ago. We’ve got to be trying to make contact with Koeman or even Bilic. An untested Championship manager simply won’t do, as charming as it sounds.

Who on here would resign if they were shit at their job? If I had enough money in the bank I would ! then again I have respect in myself to do the job I am paid to do, Hughes has enough to live on comfortably for the rest of his life, so we can add he's a greedy twat to that list

It's a no brainer Hughes is failing spectacularly but doesn't have the bollocks to admit his failings, he is wrecking our club and he doesn't give a shit that he is he accepts no responsibility for the mess he has made, constantly blaming officials is his only defence(literally) man up Leslie this is your fault.

Bullshit, the guy isn't greedy as why would he put up with this crap given he doesn't need to. He wants to salvage some pride and prove that he is a good manager. He may be deluded and be so far gone that that is not possible, but some of the absolute drivel posted on here makes the mind boggle

Geoff, What is going to get better, based on what you’ve seen today and throughout the season? Which specific weaknesses are going to be addressed? My point is rob that the club has to have a replacement before they pull the trigger, regarding todays game the penalty decision was clearly a decisive moment. That doesn’t answer my question Geoff. What is going to change under Hughes? What is he going to put right?

Well if he goes do we get Bowen, I don't see anybody else coming short term and sorry but Bowen no. Wonder if Coates is sounding others out. He should be?

As a manager generally he’s consistently finished higher so yes? You can want him gone without rewriting history and pretending it’s been five seasons of hell because it really hasn’t, has it? He finished lower than Toxic last season ! not rewriting history mate and no the first two and a bit seasons were very good the last two and a half are a different kettle of fish though, we are no better even possibly worse than we were at the end of the Pulis era. We are now but that isn’t the story of his whole tenure is it? You can’t say it’s been shit overall just because it’s shit now.

Hughes has to go.
Confidence is completely shot, I can't see us beating anyone until Hughes has gone.
We can't defend and you'd see more penetration from a eunuch!

What is going to change under Hughes? What is he going to put right? Rob, he is largely in the hands of his players if they continue to play for him and eliminate these defensive errors and the luck turns he could still turn this round. Unlike some on here I don't believe he has had this poor run of form because he is a bad manager, or his coaching staff are poor tactically, but clearly the new signings have not performed for him and that has been the major problem. It may well be the club would benefit from a change, but as you can see from this board, there is no agreement on who would be a suitable replacement.

I wanted him to stay after PC backed him in the summer. Now he has to go buy not to be replaced by TP. Both should never be employed by Stoke again. As to who comes in... I have NFI

Think that's there or thereabouts Wuzza tbh.
All the signs are that the family Coates will hold its nerve - for the moment anyway.
I take it you mean Toxic? And if so, that's where we depart; no way do I or, I think, we as a club want him back.
So as he wasn't ever in any of my 'new manager bounce equations' anyway, I'm of the opinion that there just isn't one (available) out there.
So that, and what looks like the resolve to see it through with MLH, means we better get used to the idea of making the most of a shit storm short term.
Agree also that recruitment lies at the very heart of it.
And given we can't know where that particular buck stops (it might not be all MLH of course) we can't know how that will play out now.
That said, the incumbent of the desk on which it does stop, needs to clear it. The infamous £50m terrible trio have been atrocious buys and someone needs to be held to account. We just don't have that as a club to waste.
So PC needs to get a wriggle on with his internal inquisition as to who is responsible with the Jan window looming very large, irrespective of sits in the dugout.
Our recruitment lead by Hughes is the problem, £50 million of shit is not acceptable to a club with our revenue income they are all on big money long contracts to boot, Hughes is a tactical half wit with the personality and motivational skills of a seas sponge. He is a good manager, his premier league record proves that. People want to rewrite history by saying his tenure here has been crap and he is clueless etc. It’s just not true. You can criticise him for some of his signings, but not the value of them. If you think he negotiates the price, negotiates the length of contract and the salary with the agents and player, you are severely mistaken. Other people on fat salaries do that for the club and they do it very poorly. Did you not see the article today about how much we haven’t invested in the team? Some would say he has done very well in his tenure to do what he has done with the resources. Yes it may be catching up with him now, but these problems will remain long after he has gone without a major internal change.

I would like the club to identify some managers who might be suitable whilst keeping Hughes as manager, if results pick up keep Hughes, if they don't move on one of the identified candidates.
