If Coates sacks Hughes this week and we go on to be relegated this season, will those currently demanding an immediate change of manager look back happily and say "never mind, it was still the right decision"? Just wondering. I would, yes. I don't trust Hughes to improve the squad. Too many disastrous transfer windows have convinced me he's incapable of it.

Just as an interesting thing to remember. John Coates played a large role in the decision to bring Mark Hughes to the club. Go back and read articles from the time, it was very much being lauded as effectively the point in time in which John Coates took on a more prominent role at the club, and the club dynamics changed to become a part of the bet365 group structure.
