His loan spells appear to have been average beyond belief but I've not seen anything from the performances he got slated for post injury for us that's significantly different from what were witnessing from players in similar roles now sadly.

2nd top goalscorer the season after his injury. Plenty more than 5 good games. Selective memory.

You could argue that Bojan has been involved in the only really good football a Hughes Stoke side has played.

Bojan comes with a very special set of requirements in order to get the best out of him, a team built around him
He won't get that on loan and we basically retired his position with Joe Allen
It's over simplifying it but a decent box to box that's willing to cover his lack of work rate and forward players creating space for him to work in and we might actually get the best out of him again
Not that it really matters because he'll be moving on soon, while the main reason for our poor form and dull football happily sits on the throne willing to sacrifice any and all enjoyment in order to keep his job

I can’t even think about this without fucking welling up. A player of such exceptional talent should never even end up at a club like ours to be honest, but for whatever reason we came to be fleetingly blessed with his best form and it was just magnificent. He loved it here too! What a loss

You could argue that Bojan has been involved in the only really good football a Hughes Stoke side has played. I don't think that's true. The football we played when odemwingie arrived was excellent. The football we played when bojan had that majestic but short spell of form was brilliant. The form we showed post his injury, with Adam in the 3 and diouf up front, culminating in the demolition of Liverpool was magnificent and the very short period following his return, which was 3 games in reality, was sublime. We've played brilliantly under Hughes stewardship with and without bojan.

All those players got pace, Bojan doesn't! If you talk about Luiz Suares I don't think he is that small, 6 ft! Suarez is 5 9" 182 cm (6 ft are 183 cm)

Only an idiotic Anthony Taylor stopped us getting 5 or 6 against Arsenal where Bojan was the best player on the pitch by a mile. One thing is for sure, the year he spent on loan in Germany and this year have coincided with the absolute shittest football we've played under Hughes, most of which has been just as snore inducing as some of the crap we watched under the last manager.

Bojan is just a big name coz he played for Barca
Since he left Barca he's been a complete flop wherever he went - AJax, Milan, Stoke, Mainz, Alaves
Now that's 5 different leagues ffs and he couldn't make the grade in any of them !!
Which simply means that he just ain't good enough, period

People saying he came back shit are talking out of their arses. He came back a decent, average player. It's unfair that despite him being no worse than any other player in a Stoke strip, he's judged to be wank because he didn't reach his own insanely high standards.
I'd have him back in a flash, revert to 4231 and persist with him until he plays himself back into form. It'd be worth it just to break the cycle of crap we're witnessing at the moment.

It's a shame we didn't sell him.
Jese is a player in a similar vein though.
Both seen physically shot.
And Bojan mentally too.

Neither now are physically able to play top level football.

Very sad to see , we did see flashes after his injury so it's not entirely down to that . If he isn't playing maybe he should come back and try some other option . So much talent unfulfilled . Seems a mixture of mental toughness and confidence to me .

Why was he given a 5 year contract? Because he was on fire as a false 9 at the time. 2nd top goalscorer that season.

I’ve always seen it more as a physicality thing rather than a mental one for Bojan (he seemed to have an excellent character). There are plenty of shorter players who are outstanding footballers (Messi, Suarez, Aguero etc etc) who differ from Bojan in that they are tough little beggars who are hard to knock off the ball. Bojan always looks like a boy playing in a mans game. All those players got pace, Bojan doesn't! If you talk about Luiz Suares I don't think he is that small, 6 ft! Four foot of that is teeth, though.
