Potter would be a rabbit in the headlights, a little boy lost. Do you know Graham Potter? No? Then how could you possibly comment. Honestly, how is anyone supposed to get a chance Name me one manager in the PL plucked out of total obscurity who has done anything. If we're in the Championship then OK but a PL relegation fight? Come on. Rowett was given a chance - no manager should complain about chances when they're turning down jobs.

A man who's ready to skip a Europa League tie against Arsenal, biggest of his and his team's era, to answer Stoke's plea for a manager is more than good enough for me.
The fact he's succeeded every season shows he's on the way up. Lambert et al are on their way down.

Still juicy odds available about Potter if you're quick; 30/1 with Unibet, 25/1 with Ladbrokes and Coral
Much shorter with other bookies

With some of the bags of Shit mentioned to take over,we should go all out to get Potter,we may still go down, but he would need to be given the time and money to rebuild.

What makes people think our totally incompetent board would consider Graham Potter?

Appointing Potter would be suicide. It won't happen. Ok pugs I’ll go with that but for arguments sake who do you think would galvanise the fans better than him ?? Who wants it more than him and to top it off he has got us on his cv ... he just might care 👍 No idea mate. We've somehow made the stoke job into a shit sandwich that no one wants to take a bite out of.

This club needs rebuilding regardless of whether we stay up or go down. Someone like Potter who is on the way up could do this. There are no guarantees obviously. However I also don’t believe a Lambert would keep us up.

Is this really a situation to cast someone whose only experience of league management is in Scandanavia? I like Potter the more I read about him and the Ostersunds project, but timing is important and I fear this predicament isn't one for a relative rookie.

Thankfully I’m not a betting man. All this talk of “free money” and it’s “guaranteed he will join” and the supposed ITKs The odds are juicy for a reason, Potter is extremely unlikely to be the next manager here

He's had contacts to get players in to win the swedish cup, make it out of a Europa League group, in the qualify rounds they beat galatasary, PAOK, and in the group came 2nd ahead of hertha berlin, and on equal points with group winners Bilbao, so he's got some contacts and tactical nous He has a degree in Social Science and a masters in leadership and emotional intelligence, something that may help to get our players interested again ?

I agree with everything you say but if the other options (not that Potter will be an option for our board) are people like Lambert,Pearson and Redknapp then I'd rather we took a gamble on someone like Potter, even if it meant relegation. At least we would have a young, forward thinking ambitious man at the helm to try and rebuild our club rather than one of the old guard. Potter would be a massive gamble but when you look at the names we are now being linked with, his name doesn't make me shudder as much as it normally would.

That's cup football though, teams can play out of their skin for that. The league is a different proposition entirely.

I agree that Potter is a big risk, but I guess it depends how dire you think our current predicament is. I feel at this point that we may as well roll the dice as if we go for "similar to Hughes but probably worse" in the shape of Lambert, McLaren or similar, we're very likely to go down. Potter might go spectacularly wrong, but I have the feeling he might also go spectacularly right - and given the alternatives, I'd be tempted to gamble.

As I've said before, give Potter the manager's job and ask 'Arry to pop up a couple of times a week to mentor him. Too imaginative for our board?

He's part of the transfer team and presumably has a veto for anyone he doesn't want?

It is easy to dismiss Potter's experience because he has only managed in the 4 divsions of the Swedish League. But he will have kept abreast of what is happening in European football. Since qualifying for the Europa League he will have spent time looking at the playing styles and player strengths of some decent clubs who were prospective opponents. the fact that he and his club have reached the knockout stages of the Europa at the first attempt (just like TP and Stoke did with far more money to spend) suggests he is a bloke who does his homework. In terms of tactics I suspect Potter is as good as anyone we are likely to get at present. Any weakness he has will be regarding his knowledge of players who we could recruit this window so I'd like to see us appoint an older head with long experience of English and European football to work alongside him as Director of football - or whatever he wants to be called. Yes, it is a gamble - but if it succeeds, it could pay off big time. He's young, he is an ex Potter, he is clearly on the way up a nd he is the only English manager left in European competition in the second half of this season!

Exactly my thoughts John.
Get him in and give him either an experienced director of football or 2nd in command.
McClaren would be my choice for the 2nd in command.Knows the players in the top 2 divisions and is a good coach(though not such a good number 1).
If it fails it fails but he must be a better bet than Lambert?

Potter with some uk knowledge from an old head or someone like Clement as #2 would be better than Lambert all day.
And most importantly unite the support with a siege mentality.
