Potter would be a massive risk. But he would be no greater risk than Paul Lambert, and he'd actually unite the fans.

Would he unite the fans though?
We need to be patient with whoever comes in. There may be a new manager bounce but this team needs to raise fitness levels as well as confidence and I don’t see that being done overnight.

Not for me but I'd take him ahead of Redknapp,Lambert, Strachan, McLaren and most of the other has beens who've been robbing a living in football for the latter part of their careers.....still not forgiven Graham for missing that header against Leicester all of those years ago 😉.

Potters results in europe this season alone are better than any results lambert ever achieved.
Also, he's built his own team.
I would give it to potter. Take a risk. We have nothing to lose now

Just re-read Graham Potters Wiki page and the recent article in the Guardian...it's a no brainer, there's no future in second-rate dinosaurs like Lambert, McLaren, Megson. Graham Potter is young, intelligent, in the ascendency and definitely one for the future....
Who knows if he can keep us up - it's a gamble, but then i feel the same can be said for anyone else (QSF certainly wasn't confident if he reasons for back tracking are true). I'd be happy to take that chance on the basis that Graham Potter REALLY has something to prove, has a connection with the club and has proven ability to develop and improve a team, as he's proven in Sweden with successive promotions and some success in Europe.
Everyone else being mentioned now are just on the gravy train and are available currently for a reason...
We should be bold and create the 5 year project that was sold to QSF - give it to Potter, and if we get relegated so be it. I would be gutted but would fancy our chances of a return are greater with a young and dynamic coach that one of the old guard

Got to be Potter for me. A united fan base is critical now... If it’s Lambert/Megson/McLaren or one of the other serial failures, the atmosphere will be poisonous and our morale-deficient players will crumble. It’s fucking obvious
What a shower of shit from the hierarchy

I’ve been a Potter all along! I was very surprised Brum did not go after him after they sacked Harry. It’s a huge risk but everything is a huge risk now.

Looks like we really are scraping the managerial barrel now with the likes of Megson Lamber and Maclaren
Last week I wouldn’t have considered Potter as a serious candidate but now ;;;;;
If those three are the best we can muster then I’d say fuck it. Let the lad have a go. He’s performed nothing short of a miracle so far , he actually wants the job, he’s an ex Stokie. And hey Scholsey, he’s cheap
Can’t believe it would come to this but I think he’s the best bet.

I know Harry Redknapp said Brum would be his last job but what do people think about trying get him come here until he end of the season? Would the above 3 take a short term contract because I don't want any of them here for a day let alone until the summer??
Potter worries me. Do we know enough about him to comment? Is his lack of top flight experience worth the risk? And that's the bottom line isn't it? We need somebody to keep us up in a short space of time. Potter is more a long termer. Now if we were to go down id be all for it.

Potter would be a rabbit in the headlights, a little boy lost. Would he? What are you heading that on? Who do you suggest Pugs? We are all out of options If it's Lambert I'm worried about next season never mind this one. With Potter we could at least have fresh ideas and maybe have a promotion campaign. I can't face third division football again,I just can't.

He's done well with a small town Swedish club, but hard nosed PL football is a million miles away. I did warn people who would come in when we were calling for Hughes to go.

Graham Potter would be an exciting appointment, and has the potential to achieve great things at Stoke City. The others on the list have all been tried and are mediocre at best. Have any of them got a university degree, I think not. Potter has a masters degree. He is the manager of the future.

We need to start thinking outside the box (dreadful phrase) but there is no future in the usual failed suspects. A close friend of mine works for Football League and knows the game well - his view is that the Club is still well regarded - maybe we’ve been chasing the wrong candidates
Time for some fresh thinking

Graham Potter welcome back as far as i am concerned you have 16 games to keep us up.I dont want Bilic ,Mclaren Lambert etc premier league failures give it the lad if we go down then we pinch a top championship manager who misses out this season to come back. They wont come now whilst we likely going down and they have a chance of coming up. "Vis Unita Fortior"

"Vis Unita Fortior" Potter, like MON, won't come for the short term )why should he?) where if we go down he's out on his ear and we look for a new man. Whoever we appoint (IF we appoint) will be here for the long term - only exception would be Eddie N who's already here and has nothing to lose.

Appointing Potter would be suicide. It won't happen. Ok pugs I’ll go with that but for arguments sake who do you think would galvanise the fans better than him ?? Who wants it more than him and to top it off he has got us on his cv ... he just might care 👍
