There's a shambolic lack of stand out managers at the moment...
Hughes is terrible... really, really terrible... but he would keep us in the prem. I wouldn't want to rush into sacking him without a replacement that is genuinely capable of helping us improve as a football team & club. The names that have been thrown out on these threads are all "okay" at best. In the short term, a Dyche or an Allardyce could inject a bit more of an atmosphere into the club but I'm fearful that we'd eventually be the same bottom half mediocrity.
I'd rather be patient and wait for the right man.

I’d still be inclined to give him this run of winnable games and see what shape we’re in come December. That said, if he went tomorrow I wouldn’t be arsed. Galtier, Flores, Wagner, Jokanovic, Fonseca would all be interesting ones for me. If it has to be British I can’t see beyond Allardyce. Ancelotti, Tuchel, Rodgers out of our league. Really, really don’t want Dyche, Moyes, Coleman or Roberto sodding Mancini. This board has turned, Tox. Even previously reasonable posters are giving the thumbs down. I try not to be knee jerk but Hughes has been without a clear plan or idea for this and, at the very least, the previous season. Awful 😕

He’s had plenty of time and it’s not working. At all.
Sir Peter - press eject.

I'd rather be patient and wait for the right man. With Leicester and no doubt West Ham looking for a new manager, and both lately spending more than us, there really are few out there. I've just watched Southampton v wba. Two shit teams with managers we wouldn't want. Looking at the premier league I wouldn't want half of them, which leaves the rest no gettable. By all accounts Newcastle were again shit today, but scraped a win. The majority of the league are shit, and it's whoever changes week by week that gets in or out of pressure. Really is a poor league

Always a fan of Hughes and defended him up until the last couple of months. Said after the extremely lucky win over Southampton he needed to go but was never gonna happen, it’s got to now. We have got some quality players in this squad and this knob just hasn’t got a clue what to do with them. Fuck knows what they do in the week because it doesn’t show on a Saturday. Some of those players who have genuine quality just look wank and devoid of confidence.

Hughes may get some good players in, but the change of football style has gone out the window now & we are going back to our old style. The excitement has gone from the team & it’s so Predictable the way there going to play. ( Which can be so Boring). I didn’t think I would say it, but time for Hughes to go now, he has had time now.

Im normally level headed and easy going, but today was the last straw, awful tactics first half, poor team set up which included Johnson, the sub of berahino which meant 3 players changing position, why not sobhi for jese? Mark, your time is up if from the UK then Big Sam If from abroad is Tuchel available

Pity Coates is too patient and will wait till we're relegated before he sacks him. He needs to go ASAP!!

I turned after that abject window followed with the Wimmer swindling and today was the final nail, it’s turned me from supporter to pessimism to he has to go, he’s in an uphill fight now. If he can’t get a win in this run of seemingly easier opponents who are now in form and have actual coverage for their system more will turn.

I wouldn't say no to Big Sam. But I definitely think we'd be looking at a foreign punt or a Championship punt if Allardyce didn't fancy it. I'm almost sure no Premier League manager would jump ship for a club like us. Can't see Dyche ,for example, leaving Burnley for anything less than an Everton-type as there's nothing in it for him. Moyes would probably get a mention at Bet 365 HQ, but ultimately I don't think Coates could really go through with it. Has Michael O'Neill done enough? Probably not. Coleman? No thanks. Has anyone put together a compelling CV in the Championship? I'm struggling to name one. Is there someone at a mid-ranking French/Spanish/German team we could realistically attract? And would Coates appoint one with no English experience (I think we kind of know the answer to that one) Christophe Galtier ... available too Coates probably thinks Christophe Gaultier makes aftershaves. In fact Coatsie's probably an Old Spice man. Don't want any of those flashy foreign scents God forbid.

Never mind actually losing his job, the only way it would even be considered by the board would be if we lost the next 4 or 5 games on the bounce and started to get cut adrift at the bottom. Even then he'd probably be given 2 or 3 more games to turn things around. I'd say you lot had better get used to Hughes being in position for some time yet. Hey up Mark, how's it hanging?

Pity Coates is too patient and will wait till we're relegated before he sacks him. He needs to go ASAP!! I can't continue to believe its patience I'm now convinced that it's penny pinching Hughes is the lowest paid manager in the prem plus if he gets a new manager there will be enormous pressure to support him financially in the January window it would seem the Coates family will have none of that and prefer to keep their billions to themselves

Rafa. Because he looks at a player like Joselu and thinks he can get more out of him than Hughes. Imagine what he could do with the whole squad.
Fact is, Arnie and Joselu are now both looking down the table at us.

I still believe Hughes will turn this around. Somehow, I don't think he will after having 2 years and wasting 50 million.

[br Not the most daft scenario actually... Has he completed his badges? The issues are wages, timing and do you think our Coates family will oblige a new manager with the players he would want. A part of the equation is that we are on a budget.I'm trying to be realistic to the whole Picture. I think you've misunderstood me. My post wasn't sarcastic, I quite like the idea.

Would Coates consider Redknapp? If he did, he'd need testing for dementia. Appoint Floppychops and Coates would be a few weeks away from padding around Tesco in his pyjamas.

Like someone else said, I’d install Charlie Adam as an interim manager. He understands the game and seems to care about Stoke: two qualities that are clearly lacking in Hughes, who is a yesterday man with no ideas.

Terrible first half much better second half after the team talk and changes. Always thought Ryan would make a good number 10. Not arsed about seeing Diouf as striker again, far better with more involvement running up and down on the flank. What's happened to Fletch? Heard Hughes has been bollocking them up hill, down dale everyday in training since the man city debacle, we did look shellshocked and shagged by the end of the 45. Overdone the 'I expect a reaction' perhaps. There are answers to some of that shite, sacking the manager at this stage isn't part of it. (Imo). Bournemouth are a despicable bunch.. a loss to them hurts extra. Ktf. And drink through it. Yeah, fuck having a bloke who scores goals up front. 😂😂
