I'm not really sure what he is. He's no winger and he's no central striker.
He was embarrassingly off the pace today and seemed to blame everyone else for every misplaced pass he made.
Where does he fit in our system??

He shouldn't even be in the country, he should be at his babys bed side, apalling decision to play him today.

The lad needs compassionate leave from club.
He was clearly not himself today.

We seem to have taken a policy decision a long time ago to pitch in for players who have shown themselves to have been of high quality in the past but whose careers have gone somewhat off the rails. It's worked occasionally e.g. Arnie and it hasn't in some other cases. The management clearly have confidence in themselves to turn these players around. The jury is clearly out for Jesé especially in the current circumstances but I confess to not having a clue as to how we are trying to use him in the current set up.

One again offered about as much as bojan does.
There is no point in him being here when he has those issues with his child.
As a father myself I don't get why he is here and his family are in Spain.
This is not going to work out for either party, surely that is obvious

In the same place as Berahino and Imbula sadly Completely unfair comment on the guy. How can you judge how someone will pan out after only a few hours of watching him and, knowing that he has other things on his mind, after he has scored and almost scored, apart from a world class save. I'm glad we have him rather than not. A bit of patience, surly.

No worse feeling I’m sure as a parent. Bless you Jese lad. Even without his personal problems, I don’t think he’s the answer. Had we signed him on a four year contract you could have been forgiven for being prepared to have given him a season to settle, but a twelve month loan can’t be afforded that luxury. Sad to say, but it’s looking like another forward failure from Mark Hughes.

Imbula was obviously the most expensive and worst example of the policy but I guess if it is a route we want to tread we can't complain too much if the hit rate isn't all that fantastic.

Sparky called him an 'elite player' after the Arsenal game but I reckon it can only be a question of time before he throws in the towel on this one too.
When that happens can anyone really see Jese still hanging around next April wearing out the carpets at Clayton Wood and doing the substitute thing?
Is there an option on handing him back to his owners in January I wonder and getting someone more suitable.

To give him a little benefit of the doubt, I don't think he's fit.
Watch him when he runs and he really has to get his head down to get himself moving.
His body seems to fail him because he's knackered after 10 minutes and if he isn't training during the week that is probably why.
If, however, we'd signed him from a lower league team, he'd be getting pelters.

It's a strange one isn't it ?
For someone who was one of the best in that role of his generation he really has a blind spot where strikers are concerned.
Perhaps because he was so good he is simply guilty of taking the position for granted without actually considering what they can or can't do ?
There's got be some reason why he keeps getting it so wrong.
That said still early days for Jese..and there are mitigating circumstances. .though you've got to wonder where he actually fits ?

I think we at maybe should give him a bit more time to adjust, but he started so brightly against Arsenal that I've hoped for more. Since that game he has been just a shadow of the player in that game. I've been banging on for Crouch on top for a long time now and I still don't see we have a better option than Peter!

Personally I think he shouldn't be here but maybe not the clubs doing? He certainly isn't himself on the pitch at the moment.

Not sure I would, as I think we need to create the space for a proper striker in the XI as a matter of absolute urgency, but would imagine Hughes would give him the Southampton game.
Not sure a player with his ego would take kindly to the bench after being given the big sell and being buttered up last month, so the path of least resistance is to give him every chance.
He's on a very short leash though, because he's been a complete passenger.
