Losing to a Bristol City side making 9 changes is unforgivable 😡
Blackburn reserves, Wolves reserves, Hull reserves .. Same old same old.
What on earth was our management thinking - No other mid week games to worry about Early season, no rest needed Bowen said before the game "it's our biggest game of the season" Hughes main job criteria had to be to go deep into the Cups It's our best (probably only.. dependent on the FA Cup draw!!) chance of a trophy Playing a Bristol side in good form and knocked Watford out last round
.... PLAY YOUR FIRST 11 YOU BUNCH OF.. 😡
It's done it for me. Start the recruitment process Peter, Thank you and Goodnight Hughes & Co.

I doubt Premier League chairmen and owners feel the same sting and shame as fans when their club exits like they did tonight.
As long as the Premier League money keeps rolling in, they're satisfied. Cups contribute almost nothing toward the bank account for PL teams. The prize for winning the FA Cup is something like £1.8 million.
I think those in charge at Stoke know that cups are important to fans, but they don't realize just how much; and they underestimate the degree to which fans' feelings are hurt by poor cup performances.

I very much doubt Coates will be looking for a new manager after that pathetic display last night. He had the option to sack him at the end of last season after a near 18 months of very poor results & performances but choose to give him more time i just hope he called it right.

And financially back his replacement rather than try and squeeze 'value' out of free transfers and loans.

its a bigger problem surely , why are our overpaid overpampered journeymen ( players and management ) seemingly incapable of beating championship reserve teams ?
If i had been in charge of that lot last night I'd have left them in Bristol and told the coach driver to go without them , not that it makes much of a difference , the game is fucked and this shit will keep on happening it did under TP and its the same with Hughes without decent cup runs the season becomes very dull , the chances of young players getting any game time probably nil even if we were still in the cups are now zero again until the third round and we will plod along in the league just about keeping our head above watwer and keeping the money rolling in

I am beginning to worry now every time we look to get the cheque book out! Re first team Butland bought by TP Diouf no fee Zouma loan Shawcross TP Indi £8m Pieters forgot was it £5m? Fletch no fee Allen £13m Shaq £12m Choupo no fee Jesé loan When are we going to buy a big money signing that makes an impact and plays regularly???? £50m on those three and to date no impact....jury out on Vimmer admittedly but it hadn't started well???

The players fault ENTIRELY...Either they just didn't bother to turn up, or they went there with a touch of arrogance and underestimated Bristol......whatever it was, the players are the ones responsible for our shocking display last night!!!
Hughes made only 5 changes, which 99.9% of us would have expected him to make, so he obviously went there with the intentions of fielding a relatively strong line up, plus the players on the bench, that was practically the whole of the first team bar Jese!!!
If the entire first team had of played last night we'd have still lost, they were up for it, we weren't, the players need to take a good hard look at themselves!!!
The manager will ALWAYS take the flack, but it's time the players did too!!!

They shouldn't be for us. We are the 7th longest established PL club. The chairman doesn't want to invest the required money despite having pocket fulls of it.

Just because the other club doesn't get anything doesn't mean the player or agent gets it in terms of pay, golden hello's or whatever. Good to see we've decided Wimmer is shit. May as well have kept Wollscheidt as he was a much cheaper scape goat.

To be fair the cheap ones and frees have been the better acquisitions , it's when he spends the money we have to worry, we have about £50 millions worth not playing and a team full of frees and loan players.

Says he's looking at the price tag and not the player and just assuming they must be good based on their value. If that is the case then surely the fault is in the scouts. Having said that Wimmer wouldn't be the first person put on the stage and freeze it's always easier to sing in the chorus than to be the lead vocal.

I don't want Mr. Coates looking for a replacement, I just want Mr. Hughes to concentrate on how to get our defenders to do their jobs, and the Strikers likewise.
If Hughes can't sort that out, then Coates can look for a replacement.
But for now, I'm in the Hughes to stay camp.

I'm sure Hughes is gutted as anyone as he would have targeted a cup, although I think the league cup is still usually won by someone out the top six for the last 7-8 years at least bar the odd rare lower team. Players nowadays have their eye on premier league games even if not intentionally. Even champions league games usually take second place to probably games in players minds until the latter stages. Premier league gets the exposure around the world and players have them games at the front of their minds. The fringe players have no excuses though it only takes a few first teamers having a coasting night to soon spread through the team. Liverpool likewise last night. All about the prem for most players noatter how much a manager stresses the importance.
