He's doing more than play well.
He's making everyone else play well.
No matter who wears the captain's armband, he is the one bringing out the best in everyone.
10 out of 10 brilliant

Superb signing. The type of player we've been missing for years. Age means nothing. Defensive, creative, he's got it all! And he was FREE! I love your comment and your Patrick Bateman photo Cheers rondog!

Both him and Joe Allen have started the season brilliantly As good as Allen was, at times today he got outmuscled by the likes of Pogba. It's not a criticism, just an observation. With a couple of inches more height and a bit more strength Allen would be genuine top 6 material. Fortunately for us he isn't and we get to benefit from his appetite, professionalism and quality.

Ridiculous performance from Fletcher today. The lad was fantastic. Why couldn't he be 3 years younger

Quality player. Calm, composed, great in the tackle and distributes the ball superbly. And refs the game really well.

There is an old saying that if the cap fits wear it.
The leadership cap certainly fits Fletcher.

I have to that I was a little worried about a fletcher and Allen partnership being s pittle light weight but I really think they compliment each other really well and long may it continue

i just watched his post match interview on BT. He talks with confidence and and in greater detail than most other players who go through the motions of "pleased/team game" etc no wonder he has leadership on the pitch. I can see him being a successful manager when he stops playing (is being scottish a pre-requisite for future mgmt?) Spot on mate. His enthusiasm also came across. Top bloke, top signing.

Even little things Fletcher did today, like getting the foul off Rashford in the latter part of the game to calm it down. Just pure experience.

I would like to think that Fletcher must be loving it here.
After a few seasons of the boring atmosphere at the Hawthorns his first two Stoke home games have been brilliant atmospheres with the crowd really up for it and roaring the team on.
Congrats to all the home crowd today and against the Arse. Let's keep it up.

Whelan was great for us but we look far better than last year and a large part of that can be attributed to Fletcher. He's ace.

Seen it said by someone else that he was man of the match by a country mile and I'd echo that but much more than that, he was a superb captain too. Never stopped talking to the rest of the team and getting players into the right position. Great bit of business.

He needs to speed it up sometimes as he gets caught on the ball way too often and it happened a couple of times today.
But other than that he's been pretty faultless. His forward passing from deep is something we haven't seen since Fonz. It's really excellent to watch when he pings the ball about and gives the team a different dimension.

Absolute class. Superb ball in to Diouf for the first goal and put himself about again. An absolute steal to be fair - and this is coming from someone who wasn't that enthusiastic about his signing.
