Hopefully permanent, another loan is pointless.

Hopefully permanent, another loan is pointless. He's only got 12 months left so don't suppose it really matters?

One Metz fan in the comments says "Ce serait super" I think that translates as "That would be great". Let's hope for his sake he still holds that view next April

Seriously how do you find this stuff?
Nice bit of research there FM. I don't think many would be too unhappy if this happened. Probably best for all concerned.

Good luck to the lad. I hope he gets some appreciation there and enjoys his football. Yep he took some shit on here and a main reason for our apparent terrible defending last season Would of been fair enough had he not left in August

Good luck to the lad. I hope he gets some appreciation there and enjoys his football. This. I don't quite get all the vitriol aimed at Wolly. I get that some people don't rate him, and clearly something has broken down with him & LMH, but we have had much worse players come here and leave as 'legends' is some people's eyes.

Nice enough bloke but for me never good enough for the prem with his lack of pace. Not denying he had some good games either but it's best he moves on for his own footballing career.

I don't think replacing wolly will be a priority. We coped without him last season and can always switch back to a back four if any of our cb's get injured.

Just seems to have a problem with his aggression levels. It'll be non existent most weeks and then suddenly he'll be how I imagine Donald Trump would be if somebody stole his hair piece.
If he could find a happy half way point he'd actually be a decent defender at this level.
Anyway, it wasn't his fault he replaced Huth, so good luck to the bloke. Given I've seen his wage reported as in the 40ks seems a sensible move by us.

I agree but perhaps that depends how much Cameron plays in the midfield? Considering Wolscheid and Muni gone. If we play 3 at the back; BMI---Shawcross---Zouma Then to my mind the realistic backup options are: Pieters---Cameron---Johnson I would rather have someone else instead of Johnson who can also double as a RB in a 4 if needed... Perhaps this Cools lad? So for me it would be a RB/CB player we really need but a cheap big CB as backup wouldnt go a miss either for full depth purposes, though like you say not a priority.

It's another one of the Hughes signing's that hasn't quite worked out for whatever reason and been shown the door. It happens but the replacements are certainly better with Indi and Zouma both better than Wolly, Jese Rodriguez on paper is better than Joselu and Walters. Imbula probably soon although I really do hope deep down that he has an attitude transplant and wants to play with Shaqiri Jesé Eric-Moting and show his obvious talent.
But with all the new signings It comes down to attitude and how much they want to dig-in and Give everything like All stoke city fans want at the very least.
Come on Stoke

Could be the move he needs, just across the border from his hometown. Metz are the preverbial yo-yo team so you can expect them to take some hammerings this season.
Just looked on their forum they think it will go through this morning, he needs to be registered quickly as they play Monaco at home tomorrow night.

Pretty fair player to be honest, just didn’t quite seem to have the speed or aggression that was needed in the PL.

Nedum Onuoha was linked not so long ago...
Maybe this is the catalyst for Onuoha to be our back up option.

Wolly was the classic example of a player who was only as good as his last match. He actually did a lot of good play in some matches but you always think he's about make one of his school boy howler mistakes.

Good luck to the lad. I hope he gets some appreciation there and enjoys his football. Don't think he was ever as bad as some made him out to be on here....he was made a scapegoat when things didn't go our way......much the same as Eric Peiters has now become!!!

Premier League results with Wollscheid in the team:
P45 W20 D9 L16 (1.5 pts per game)
We've improved our defence on paper and he moves on, that's football. Some of the comments towards him on here however over the last 18 months have been an embarrassment.
Good luck Phil.........
