One Metz fan seems to say "Ce serait super" I think that translates as "That would be great" Very clever man. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time

It would be good if he could hit the ground running at Metz - but will they accept his ambling instead?

For those who enjoy abusing Wolly.....
Liverpool away, League Cup semi final. Nothing else needs to be said.

I don't think replacing wolly will be a priority. We coped without him last season and can always switch back to a back four if any of our cb's get injured. We let 56 league goals in last season. Our goalkeeper was a runaway winner of the player of the season. I don't call that coping without him.

With Muni and Wolly gone, why wouldn't we get another centre back in? If the young Belgian lad is good, then maybe we have a season to blood him in the Cups or off the bench and then, when Zouma departs, he's ready.

Good luck to the lad. I hope he gets some appreciation there and enjoys his football. yep that night at Anfield 18 months ago, him and Muni were excellent

Wish him luck, I watched him give one of the best CB displays I have ever seen. At that fateful night in Liverpool.

He'll be the campest-running German to set foot in France since Lieutenant Gruber in Allo Allo.

Good luck to the lad. I hope he gets some appreciation there and enjoys his football. This. I don't quite get all the vitriol aimed at Wolly. I get that some people don't rate him, and clearly something has broken down with him & LMH, but we have had much worse players come here and leave as 'legends' is some people's eyes. Some people on here seem to need a dose of vitriol every day to keep them going. They will always find a target.

If we get anywhere near €10million (£8.5million ish?) I will be over the moon...

He's not the best centre half we've had but he's also not the worst. The way some fans are describing him you'd think he was Steven Tweed with a wooden leg! Best of luck to the guy

Roughly translated it means he heard the news in the last 10 minutes and the club will make it official in the coming hours. 😜

Brilliant performance in the cup semi at Anfield and played a big part in us finishing 9th when Shawcross was injured, all the best lad.

Brilliant performance in the cup semi at Anfield and played a big part in us finishing 9th when Shawcross was injured, all the best lad. I don't get the 'hate in' re Wolly. I thought he gave some great performances. He can't be that bad as we finished 9th with him as a mainstay. All the best Wolly, I will miss your unique running style and great positional sense.

My lasting memory of Wolly was his meltdown at home to Sunderland.Probably the most hapless defensive performances I have ever seen. Always an accident waiting to happen although it would always be someone else's fault.

You not been to many games?

I don't think that I would be looking to sell him right now. He and Muniesa were both squad player, who would inevitably get games over the course of the season if we play three at the back. I don't think he's good enough to be a regular starter, but he's an ok stop gap for a couple of games at a time.
