Played well 1st half, couldn't convert. 50/50 second half, didn't concede.
I know I can't do what I think they should do, but they should be able to do what I think they should do.
Tough one as I thought we'd get spanked, we didn't, it was a fair game.
Our problem is our lack in the 3rd of the pitch, since we've come up we've not had a prolific season or player in the finishing 3rd of the pitch. Berehino is not looking like the answer to me.

Maybe something drastic needed for berahino like a 1/2 season loan out to a championship club

This could be a good season. I'm getting that vibe too BUT we need a win in August to give us that confidence. Another early winless run and it'll fuck us up mentally, both team and crowd.

So amalgamating what most people seem to be saying, this should be the line-up:
..........................Butland........................... .......Zouma......Shawcross......Bruno......... Diouf.........Allen.......Fletcher.....NEW LWB ..............Shaqiri.......Choupo-Moting.......... .....................Joselu/NEW CF.....................

I thought defence look good and we competed well in midfield. Fletcher is Whelan + creative passing which is what we have been missing.
Pieters was shocking first-half but improved after the break - hes still never a Wing-Back.
Berahino needs dropping pronto.
2 signings urgently needed - Striker & LWB and we could be good

Normally after watching a mediocre performance like today, which achieved nil points and no goals scored.........Yes Compared to last season it was lightyears better, we didn't win but we were never out of it either, they've spent millions and look no better than us With a couple of additions we'll look good

Bit surprised at the scale of the negative reaction. I thought there was lots and lots to like today. There will always be those who just see we lost and then can't wait to criticise. They probably didn't even see a single minute. We were solid, compact, worked hard and looked far more ready for the season than last year. The defence looks way better, with Bruno still to come. Saido is not a lone striker so we need to either see if Joselu can do the job or invest in another who can, or we change to 2 up front. Promising cameo from Choupo too which suggests he may threaten Bojan's spot in that formation before too long. After their shambolic showing last night, if we can take the game to the Arse next weekend, I feel the game is there for the winning. I'd push Geoff up to partner Fletch and Allen and bring Bruno in at the back, drop Bojan and Saido and play Crouch up top with Shaq in a free role. Dominant the middle of the park and unsettle their back line with Crouch's presence.

I appreciate your point but I don't think anyone could deny that there is something in the argument that there is little different from last season, apart from the very promising cameo by choupo. Our build up play was turgid, there was no real strategy and we again lost 1-0 at Everton, arguably a worse Everton than last season

New boys played well. The 3-4-3 looked more solid than I thought (though the acid test will come against teams with pace out wide) Cameron had a really good game I thought. Cameron was superb. Can't be true. Some clowns on here think he's robbing a living as a footballer. I agree and he consistently makes some dicks on here look stupid and inept.

We never looked like scoring. Another losing start to the season. Same manager same problems We lost but considering most were predicting we'd get splattered we did quite well Joselu instead of Berahino will help our scoring issues We didn't look slow and tired like we usually do at the start of the season, we played for 90 minutes, not 60 and fucked Definite improvements on last season, we also have Bruno to bring in and whoever else we sign
