Before the wrist slashers turn up:
1. Zoumzy. Motm. 2. Fletcher excellent. 3. Choupo. 4. We didn't deserve to lose. 5. Not 4-0.
Negatives: 1. Bera. Time to drop him. 2. Poor on the goal.
Their best player was Neil Swarbrick. Onwards and upwards.

Played better away against Everton than Chelsea did at home against Burnley. With 9 men and still scored twice....

New boys played well. The 3-4-3 looked more solid than I thought (though the acid test will come against teams with pace out wide) Cameron had a really good game I thought.

Berahino looked lost.

The back line looked top notch. Add in Bruno, and I don't see many games of conceding 4 goals.

Positive work rate and desire by Bojan and Shaq I thought too. Should have been a draw all day that game, probably a 0-0 one

Bruno Martins Indi is back Yeeeeehaw! That will allow Cameron to move forward and actually create a midfield next week. Fletcher with a fly running around him in Allen can't persist with that back three its like conceding the midfield for nothing.

Martins Indi to come in, although the bloke he replaces (presumably Cameron) will consider himself a bit unlucky after today.
Another possible positive is that there are whispers that we may be looking at actual wing-backs.

Reasonably happy, Zouma looks a beast , him and Bruno will be formidable imo , Stoke were a different team after the subs , Eric is a silky footballer , very cool . Only worry is the managers persistence with Saido , the lad isn't good enough I'm afraid .'

Not as bad as some are making out on other threads. Positives and negatives aplenty.
The lack of support in the final third is a concern. We really need to push the boat out and sign a couple of wingbacks that can both attack and defend.
Agree re. Berahino. Looks shot of confidence and the lack of support certainly doesn't help him. Having said that, Joselu needs start next week if he's available.
Stoke deserved a point.

Generally looked ok but badly let down by our attacking players.
Apart from choupo.
We need to spend in those areas. A new striker and playmaker perhaps.if not we will be reliant on choupo completely

Thought we deserved a point. Looked solid at the back and competed well in midfield. Choupo added something when he came on and looks like he's got the physical presence to do well in the Premier League.
Compared with the start of last season we look to have a far stronger base to build on.

Cameron to replace Allan. He doesn't deserve to loose his spot in the starting line up with BMI coming in

Cameron to replace Allan. He doesn't deserve to loose his spot in the starting line up with BMI coming in Allen played well today. Probably one of the reasons we conceded with him losing Rooney so easily, but apart from that fuck up I thought he was one of the better players.

Definitely feel a lot more positive then I did this time last week and even this time last year. We look harder to beat now admittedly it's early days and there are still issues.

Biggest positive has to be that Coates must surely see that we are clueless up front and needs to take urgent action to address it. I say Coates because it's pretty obvious Hughes is oblivious to it and has no idea how to address it.

I think we'd have won today with Joselu up top
Definitely more optimistic now even though we lost, we actually played for 90 mins instead of 40
Apart from the goal they did nothing even though they've spunked millions more

Everyone looked pretty good except Bojan and Berahino. I forget they're even on the pitch they create so little.
Zouma is a beast. Choupo is class.

Was at the game
Everton were all huff and puff with no quality
Stoke were great apart really from where it mattered. Much cripser and secure passing. Need a bit more from Shaq and Bo but I was generally impressed with their creativity.
I like this formation but we need a striker that works with it and can win headers/hold the ball. We'll be far better with that strikee. Saido just doesn't seem to offer that much atm that we need
NB - considering the expectation and spending, the crowd at Goodison were fucking shit from start to finish.
Edit: fucking hell Zouma is a beast

Our backline looks much more solid, so that is a positive start. We are still majorly lacking in wingback areas and upfront but i am hoping todays showing will give the management team conformation of that now. Cameron and Allen i thought did ok although I'm hoping they will only be used from the bench/as back up over the course of the season. Zouma is immense, Moting added something promising from the bench, Fletcher showed his experience and we didn't look like conceding 4 or 5.

Looked a good unit. Decent shape and movement. Bojan and Shaq looked good. We need that other option up front, right thing to persevere with Bera, but we need an option. Will look even stronger at back when Bruno returns. Like the look of big Eric.
Yes we lost, but in a funny way, I feel more positive than when I came out of the Riverside last season after the first game
