For £20m we'd be daft not to accept.

I'd accept 20m in a heartbeat but if that's an opening bid (big if I know, it's press speculation) then we should be looking for 25/30m.

20m The world truly has gone fucking mad. Based on Wezza's overview of the player, we should ask for 30m and have done.

Allen will not be sold. He literally is not for sale as Mark Hughes has said. Coutinhio isn't for sale Van dyke isn't for sale Mahrez isn't for sale But if money was right and there was enough time to get a replacement then they will be sold

For £20m we'd be daft not to accept. Depends what we would expect to have to pay for a replacement assumimg we felt there was one available who was comparable to (or better) than Allen. If we can break even or show a profit then there is no problem. If we had to pay more then we should keep him. In any case, if we decide to sell we should (as we did with Arnie) jack the initial offer up if we possibly can.

Wasn't that arsed about Delph, but the club should now get that done as soon as humanly possible, then tell Swansea to stick £5m on top of that bid and they can have him.

It's tempting but we're in danger of collecting a lovely great pot of money and then having to give Mark Bowen and the hippo a runout to get a team together.

If they want him so badly then 30m. They're going be getting 50m for a bang average player. I don't want all to leave but for stupid money we have to

To be fair £20m is a blinding offer for a player who isn't actually very good.

We are in the top 30 in the world cash flow not an issue , the market will do what it does , but my sole regard is for us and right now Bardsley , Whelan , walters and Arnie would walk into our match day squad tomorrow on merit .

I like Joe and normally wouldn't even consider it - but it all depends who we have / haven't got* lined up to come in surely before you can attach a meaningful valuation.
At anything north of £25m though, and with someone special waiting in the wings, you'd have to be tempted.
* but with the performance of pizza dpeartment, I suspect the options are very few and far between.

Apart from Arnie, the players you mention were very much surplus to requirements. The only one with any merit, Whelan, has more than adequately been replaced by Darren Fletcher.

Started off brilliantly then has faded in the last few months,if he could recapture his early form it's a no brainer to keep him if he starts how he finished last season i'd let him go.

He 100% does, only on loan though and we want a permanent deal, already agreed a fee, City only want to sell. So to confirm, he DOES want to come.

Joe Allen is the least of our fucking problems. He was the only midfielder we had last season who made things happen, and had to do the work of two in some games. He scored goals and created chances while being played in the wrong position, yet he's slaughtered on here. Baffling.

With the way we setup as a team, what does Joe Allen actually bring?
He had a purple patch for a handful of games where he scores much needed goals, something he's never done before and can't ever see doing again.
Apart from that, he's not particularly disciplined in his positioning so DM is out the window, he has no link up play with the front men so AM is out the window. Box to box? Well he's neither powerful enough or skilful enough to carry the ball up the field. His passing is average as well.
The only thing I see in him on a match day is someone who runs around chasing the ball and has a good attitude. My Spaniel does that but I wouldn't trust her in the starting 11 either.
Is he a bad player? Well no, nobody is at top flight, he's just not that good and doesn't really suit us.
Stoke fans have an obsession with people who run around, always have and always will. Run your bollocks off but achieve little else then you hit legend status or fan favourite pretty quickly.
I'd sell him as although not his fault, his arrival has caused us far more issues than he solved. That's on Hughes' head and hopefully he sees that and moves him on for a handsome fee.
