This isn't being negative for Zouma signing, but of course this would have been great! On the other hand where does this leave Ryan!? I think 3 top line Stoke City centre backs being Ryan, Bruno and Smalling would be the perfect solution. Injuries and suspensions will inevitably kick in and a bit of rotation shouldn't be a problem, modern players know its a squad game. Absolutely. Ryan, Bruno, Smalling rotating through the CB positions and the option of Zouma as a CB/DM is exactly what we need to keep up season long hopes of a top ten finish or decent cup run. No disrespect but those names in those positions are the next level up from Wooly, Cameron and Muniesa.

Zouma is good cover on all back four. Lets get Smalling and BMI

But we have Zouma now, and he has clearly been signed to play... Yes, it's too late now, I was saying the £8 million we paid Chelsea for the pleasure of providing the very raw Zouma with a 9 month 'finishing' school before handing him back to his masters would have been better invested in closing one or both of the Bruno/Smalling deals. Just my opinion, I may be wrong. As you say its water under the bridge now. Is this £8m thing real? I've just had a look around (Sentinel, Daily Mirrior, Independent, Stoke & Chelsea websites etc...) and I can't see a single mention of us paying £8m for him (Infact I can't see a single mention of any money) So is there an offical link somewhere that says we've paid £8m, or was it just in some random fella's Tweet one day & it's become 'FACT' & a great stick to beat the club with?

I think it was mentioned by someone with a WBA connection saying that's why they were put off pursuing interest in him. No 'official' link though. He had a good 6 months but other than that he really hasn't done much. But he does seem cheap.

I don't think our transfer team can compete with other clubs who the asking price of the selling club . As well Run a transfer policy of trying get the selling club give them Away and pay half there wages on top

He's a very good signing even if it is for only 1 season. I'll be amazed if Smalling is sold for only 10 Million. Didn't Utd pay that for him ? He must be on 100K at least when he had his new contract in 2015 he was an England & Utd regular then.
