Seems a bit quiet on the Brexit front... It can only mean one thing... it’s Labour Conference time. A Brexit-free zone. Officially just released. Labour's position on Brexit is....... nothing! They promise to negotiate a new deal with the EU within 3 months of taking power. Then offer a referendum on their deal versus remain but won't release their official Brexit position until AFTER the GE.

Absolutely dispicable ... Some hostage stories need to be taken with a pinch of salt, especially ones with a supposed background in journalism. This one has a whiff of secret service written about her. From her Wikipedia page: "Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a project manager with the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the Canadian news agency Thomson Reuters' charitable arm, travelled to Iran on 17 March 2016 to visit her family for Nowruz (Iranian New Year) with her 22-month-old daughter Gabriella. On 3 April 2016, members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard arrested her at the Imam Khomeini Airport as she and her daughter were about to board a flight back to the UK" Sounds r8 dodgy to Mendicant. If I'm right, and if the Brexit Party are anti-establishment, they might have good reason for what they've done. I hope someday when you are deep in the shit you get the amount of help your views justify

John Humphrys The morning of the EU Referendum was different. Leave had won — and this was not what the BBC had expected. Nor what it wanted. No nods and smiles when the big bosses appeared. No attempt to pretend that this was anything other than a disaster. Their expressions were as grim as the look on the face of a football supporter when his team’s star player misses the penalty that would have won them the cup. A few days later, I happened to be doing an interview for the Radio Times and mentioned the mood in the office that morning. When the story appeared, my phone pinged with a message from one of the big bosses. ‘Thanks a lot,’ it said with all the sarcasm it’s possible to manage in a short text, ‘I thought you were supposed to be on the BBC’s side.’ The Brexit crisis had exposed a fundamental flaw in the culture of the BBC. Its bosses, almost to a man and woman, could simply not grasp how anyone could have put a cross in the Leave box on the referendum ballot paper. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7487737/amp/Radio-4s-JOHN-HUMPHRYS-lambasts-BBCs-liberal-bias-craven-PC-culture.html?__twitter_impression=true

In my opinion it is worth both Remainers and Leavers listening to Tony on this. Obviously we all know Tony's stance on BREXIT, but irrespective of your view, he makes some interesting ( imo) observations on Empires, the rise of nationalism and the stances of Labour and the LibDems. www.facebook.com/BreakingBrexitNews/videos/534172977343071/

Will he appeal to the European Courts⚖️ Can you imagine?!. The Brexiters wouldn't have a clue to support him or not and some I think would explode. Wonder if he'll do the decent thing and resign?

Pfft, not really up for another few weeks of same shit different day. I don't really see what this is going to achieve other than frustrate people more and waste time.

Think we need to get one thing clear though as its on this thread its not about brexit and the ruling was about the power of parliament to scrutinise the executive of the country.

Politics isn't about doing the decent thing! What is interesting is what happens next: Does Boris resign as PM - I doubt it. This battle may be lost but the Brexit war is not. Does the Government resign - possibly Do the opposition force a vote of no confidence - surely they have to It's hard to see how this Boris can still be in No.10 this time next week. If he isn't, either Corbyn or a caretaker (Ken Clarke?) will be with two things on the To Do list: 1) request a delay from 31 October and 2) call a general election

Force an extension, then general election is what I think will happen. How will this 'force' an extension? Boris was already legally obliged to ask for one and it would be up to the EU to grant or deny it. There are plenty of EU members fed up with this prolonged saga so I wouldn't take an extension as a given.

I didn't say this will force an extension I said imo they (opposition) should force an extension and then go for an election. Guaranteed the EU will agree.

This is just going to be another few weeks of stupid showmanship, stupid arguments and absolutely no progress being made. Unless something drastic is going to happen then they may as well not bother with prolonging the inevitable.
