I have to say I have been so disappointed with our season I have found myself not bothering with second half on 3 occasions this season.
I have renewed as have all my friends but I can honestly say if renewal DAY WAS TODAY I WOULD NOT RENEW.
I would pick my matches and do a few more away days instead for the craic.
The season has been mundane at best and totally unenjoyable.
How many others would not have renewed or considered it carefully if the early bird deal started today.
Oh and before some JCL comment I was at Field Mill 1st game at Mansfield, Cambridge the next season,Chester at Moss Rose ,Wigan 4 Stoke 0 Spring field park and when West brom and Swindon hit us for 6 .

I gave in my season ticket a few years ago to complete my postgrad studies, I purchased one this year in the early bird. I think I'm just glad to be going back, because I'd still spend the money to go back.
Perhaps that's because I'm shit at picking my matches, I went a year without seeing us win at home!

Yes. I will always renew whilst I have my health and I can afford it irrespective of what division we're in and how "shit" we are....

I despised watching us under Pulis mate but still went home and away If it was financial or family reasons then fair dos but to see your arse because it was poor fayre is really a little bit Chelsea to me Of all the years people could stop going and the shit we've watched they choose now when it's actually the same price as it was 10 years ago Perhaps it's just me

Then again I've never believed Scholes figures, as he hasn't issued an actual early bird total for years.

I was one of them it was not a painless experience. Its a stance you take to try to get a message across. I suppose fans leaving in droves was another way of trying to send a message. Coates is an old man with a lot of old fashioned ideas who very much needs prodding to take action.

Judging by what's available online if you wanted to buy a season ticket today I'd say season ticket sales pretty much mirror last season as it's predominantly single seats or front few rows again. The difference being this season the additional 1,800 seats and this is where the club has missed a trick for me - if they offered 3/6/9 match tickets for that area of the ground I think they'd get snapped up pretty sharpish. I personally know fans who are students/self employed/work shifts etc who would go for it, plus the 6 of us who sit in the DPD would buy some as well based on the fact that we've all now got kids who are desperate to come but we don't want to sit in The Family Stand.....

Yes probably, its the club not the manager, he won't be around anywhere near how long the club will be regardless of how successful he is.

They could yet offer some special deals on the new corner. They were hardly likely to do so whilst the early bird ST renewal period was underway.

They could yet offer some special deals on the new corner. They were hardly likely to do so whilst the early bird ST renewal period was underway. They could. But they won't lets be honest.... It will probably depend upon how many seats they have available after taking into account the numbers of ST holders we have - which is, as usual, a State secret! 1,800 is a significant number of pay on the day seats to add to the number we had last year if ST sales have been similar. The club will probably have a pretty good idea by late July of whether special measures (over and above the free tickets for schools) are needed to fill the new corner.

Has the club got "a pretty good idea" how to fill the whole ground after HT?

Not judging you either way, but your post and your avatar do not quite match in sentiment. IMO things have gone wrong this season and the future looks bleak at the moment but when you put things in perspective there are 72 league clubs who would jump at the chance to be where we are so I am inclined to keep the faith.

I would but not having one is getting closer by the season.
It's not particularly the football on offer at the minute that would sway my decision it's just football in general, I'm rapidly falling out of love with the modern game, and if it wasn't for the fact that the match was pretty much the only time I spend with my life long mates then I'd probably give a season ticket a miss and pick and choose, with the odd away match thrown in for the day out.

Yes, I always will whilst I have health and can afford to. I have been bored to death for 18 months, but supporting Stoke is what I do. Have done for over 50 years, and this does not compare to some of the shite I have watched, the point being, for me it is not the "product" it is just ingrained in me

Now I've seen the positioning of the big screeen I wish I'd been more pro active about a seat swap. I won't be able to see it from my row, ten feet further forward the view would be fine. Bugger.

Don't forget there'll be 2 screens though mate so if you can't see one you should be able to see the other....
