Well this thread really doesn't involve myself as I no longer attend matches. Age, health and geography being my reasons.
However, I would love to think that all of the highly principled fans that register their vote by not renewing, keep their stance, and if a cup final were to occur next season - they maintain their high moral stance, and do not attend.

I've done exactly what the OP suggested this season. I've gone to away games with my two lads and had a great time. Only been twice to home games. Its turned into a bit of a joyless experience watching a team lose the majority of home games often without putting up much of a fight and scoring relatively infrequently. Its been upsetting to see such a passionate crowd being ground down to the point where away fans comment that its like visiting a different ground (That from a Hull fan who has been many times with me and in the past was in awe of our support).Being a Stoke fan means you should never expect to win- but you expect a team of multi millionaires to give it a go
Just focusing on away games doesn't make me or any one else any less of a fan- its just I'm choosing to do it differently and will repeat it next season

EDIT: To save you looking it up we lost 6 out of 19.

I have to say I have been so disappointed with our season I have found myself not bothering with second half on 3 occasions this season. I have renewed as have all my friends but I can honestly say if renewal DAY WAS TODAY I WOULD NOT RENEW. I would pick my matches and do a few more away days instead for the craic. The season has been mundane at best and totally unenjoyable. How many others would not have renewed or considered it carefully if the early bird deal started today. Oh and before some JCL comment I was at Field Mill 1st game at Mansfield, Cambridge the next season,Chester at Moss Rose ,Wigan 4 Stoke 0 Spring field park and when West brom and Swindon hit us for 6 . As long as I have the money I will always renew and attend as many away games as finances allow. What division we are in, what the football is like, how successfull we are, who is in charge - non of these things will ever influence whether I attend games or not. I'm a Stoke fan, surely it's what we do?

We played two at home in the cup and lost both...so we played 21, won 7 and lost 8 with 5 drawn....66% drawn or lost...my figures weren't quite right but they are more accurate then yours

Putting pedantry on one side...its a poor show isn't it Lakeland?....some of the games we didn't just lose as well- we were annihilated. Wolves put us out the cup with a poor championship side, and Hull Reserves put us out of the other one. I suppose the reason I don't want to go to home games is simple- when they turn up I will. I don't mind so much about away games Ive been to about 60 grounds and I probably have seen us win one game in ten over 40 years- I expect us to lose but I always have a good laugh
Each to their own eh

I take the line that if no one buys tickets and goes to games then the club will fold - so I do my bit and buy a season ticket each season.

Surely the people who only go when the team are winning or it's entertaining are the normal people?
The fuckers who go no matter what shit is served up are clearly subnormal. It makes no logical sense to pay a fortune to be bored and/or pissed off by what you're paying for.
I mean, I've been going for 30 years and it's been wank for large parts of that. I kept going even when we were regularly getting twatted at home to teams far far worse than Arsenal.
It's not normal though is it? It's absolute bloody stupidity.

Spot on Para I enjoy away games much more, even though we are generally poor to put it mildly because I am amongst a bunch of fellow subnormals who will do it whatever and we understand our addiction Home support, taking out us subnormals equates to normal people walking out after 80 plus minutes, saying that was a bit poor, not sure I will go next week and then getting on with their lives The first year back was all raw pent up emotion. Most spent it there and then. Except circa 8,000 ish 'need to find a new hobby but cant' bunch Same as most clubs I suspect At least I belong somewhere 😂

Two league games at Home..the Two cup games at Home...and eight away so far if you include the Preston friendly also will be at Southampton on Sunday- I have to take my two boys (5 and 7) so it takes a bit of planning.....why do you ask...do I have something to prove...or just interested
