You have to build a system that concedes as least as possible whilst creating chances for your forwards. Sounds simple, rarely is. It is up to the management team to sift through the squad and find a regular base system that can do this with what we have, or with what we have that can be extended with transfers. Like Leicester with the 4-4-2 that they used, we have to find out our key players and how they fit together, how their strengths and weaknesses play off against each other. The way I look at our general squad as is; I see an experienced back four, lacking in pace with full backs that have limited quality on the ball - a midfield that is hard working but lacking in pace and creativity. Three wide men that like cutting in and a slow forward line that would thrive from crosses with a certain configuration and through balls with another. So, how would YOU create a system from that and what would YOU do to change it over the summer? Totally agree. We don't have a system nor an identity with how we set-up and play. We don't know our best starting XI and we don't seem to know what we need to fix it. On re-reading what I just wrote, how does anyone know what pegs we need if we don't know where we are sticking them or what we are want them to do. st9
