With what we've seen today and next season and beyond in mind what do you hope the team will be?
Butland (after he comes through the u23 game on Monday)
Edwards Shawcross Indi Bardsley
Cameron Muni
Shaq Ramadan Arnie
Diouf
It's a bit of a mish mash but Johnson and Pieters need dropping and if Muni is needed in midfield then it leaves Bardo for left back. He's played there lots before though.
Shaq, Ramadan and Arnie all have to play.
There's no chance Diouf starts but hey I think he's the best striker we have.

Persist with the 343 but with funkier and more mobile wing backs. Diouf and Ramadan in for me. {rest Pieters & Johnson}. Experiment the fuck out of them switching to more of a 442 with Bony and Allen coming on for that extra Ex Factor. Laugh at the sinking Swans. Like to see Imbula instead of .. Adam perhaps..... Choices.

Grant Johnson Shawcross Martins Indi Pieters Cameron Muniesa Shaqiri Sobhi Arnautovic Berahino Yes please What have Johnson and Pieters done to warrant starting? I'd like to see if Berahino works with those three behind him though. Because if it doesn't we've got to ask massive questions about what we actually are hoping from him and how we get that from him. It needs testing now.

I'd have Muni in before Adam at CM after today like others have posted, so much better on the ball in space. So much so. Hell, I'd even have him in for Erik after his performance today he was good and solid but nobody was more menacing as the destroyer of worlds aka Bruno. Told ya he is good.

Absolutely correct.
We said at half time that Hughes absolutely HAD to come out in the second half with a flat back four.
It was madness to play that formation against a team with two quick wingers and we were getting overrun in midfield, if he didn't change it, then they would inevitably score.
We don't remotely have the personnel to play that formation and haven't all season.

It was beyond obvious. He didn't even need to make a sub. Yet he didn't see it. I find it staggering.

Absolutely didn't even need to make a sub, I said exactly that ...
I was sitting next to Mick (werringtonstokie) going absolutely mental like some apoplectic chimp when we came out second half with the exact same game plan.

Haha, I did that when Adam shot from the half way line. It was so easy to change, he could have done it in game if he wanted to but making it at half time made sense to explain it etc. Oh well. I almost don't care any more.

It's the personnel that was the problem not the formation Only a fucking idiot plays 3 at the back with the squad we have..... Muniesa is more than capable of playing left wing back. Shawcross was hopeless on the right of a three I've got no issue with three at the back and it can work for us, but not the way it was set up today

We don't have a wing back in the squad. Our midfield can't pass wind. And we need a third CB on the right who is better but Indi imo has to play in the middle of the 3. It's a load of bollocks for us.

We're safe now. I'd LOVE to see some of the younger and fringier (is that a word) given a chance so some of the under-performers get a pre-summer wake-up call

I'd LOVE to see some of the younger and fringier (is that a word) given a chance so some of the under-performers get a pre-summer wake-up call With, give or take, around £9 million the difference for a couple of mid table places, I doubt that we'll see much in the way of experimentation in the final few games.

And more importantly Sparky and the management teams end of season BONUS hinging on a top half finish too it ain't happening!!
