Suprises me that some seem to think that Berahino would be viable playing down the middle on his tod. Nothing I've seen suggests to me he is suited to carrying that load. Walters was one of the most effective aspects of Saturday's performance and yet as normal people are falling over themselves to drop him. It's a strange old season. I think you are right - an attacking midfielder isn't going to get the best out of Berahino - he needs somebody playing alongside or slightly in advance of him. Crouch, Walters, Bony and Walters look better options to me. Walters had a decent game on Saturday - I wouldn't have a problem if he starts against Hull. If we insist on playing a 4231 we'd be better off with Bony, Crouch or Diouf up front.

He seems strong to me, his hold up play has looked decent (it's pretty much all he's had to do so far besides about 3 chances). If we play through the midfield, as we should be doing, rather than over it, he'll be fine I reckon. Can't claim to have any immediate answers but I think the 'over the top/hoof' is overstated. Arnie and Shaq, the wings (fbs etc) are far more the focus and outlet. Broke down with Arnie a lot saturday. Your forward has to continually check back and readjust under those circumstances. Just got to hope it starts to click two or three times a game. And regularly. Agreed, if we don't hit it high we go wide, and it's far too easy to defend. Luckily we have two fantastic wide players, but with some creativity in the middle aswell, we'd be a much more potent side. I'd rather that came from a number 10, but since we have none, I'd take a three man midfield instead.

UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES NO
Pieters - Adam - Whelan - or Johnson please
or for that matter
EVER AGAIN !!!!
Being blunt, they've had far too many chances to demonstrate they are not good enough for where we want to go

Can't believe people would drop Berahino.
This is our biggest ever forward signing, a guy tipped for massive things until Pulis stopped playing him, he came to us having not had regular competitive action for a season and a half.
It is crucial for the club that he plays and plays and plays until he gets sharper and fitter. He may even start scoring before the end of this season.
He will be crucial to us next season.
As for Diouf, suddenly people are singing his praises. Lets not forget the complete lack of technique he brings to the role, and the fact that if you drop the ball in front of him two yards from goal there is a 10% chance he will score

Behind them id have shaq. Cameron imbula Arnie now if that happens Kate will be joined by Naomi Campbell .

I don't think any of us will predict the starting line up for the next game. That's how random Hughes can go. In fact if anyone does I'll give them a pound. Challenge accepted. Hughes will go with... Grant; Johnson, Shawcross, Indi, Pieters; Shaqiri, Cameron, Whelan, Arnautovic; Walters, Berahino. Can I have 3 bonus pounds for the subs? It'll be Whelan off for Adam, and Berahino off for Crouch. He'll only make a third if Shaqiri has his infamous 'tightness in his calf', then we'll see Sobhi if we're lucky, or more than likely Diouf.

Seems to much of an obvious line up for Hughes! If you're wrong you can give me a quid.

I do not want to see Ramadan on the bench and not in the starting lineup one more time. Absolutely ridiculous situation. Shaq No. 10 plus Ramadan and Arnie on the wing with Berahino up top and give him some service!!!!!!!!

Firstly, If I see Whelan, Adam, Johnson, Crouch, Pieters I know that it won't be worth turning up. I'd play a Liverpool style 4-3-3. Aggressive pressing with hopefully lots of movement. But because it's Hughes, you know he'll go with the old guard and set up to scrape a 1-0 win. With this 4-3-3: Grant
Bardsley BMI Shawcross Muniesa
Affellay Cameron Imbula
Sobhi Berahino Arnie

4 4 FUCKING 2 Butland Muni Indi Ryan Bards Sobhi Allen GCam Arnie Diouf Saido Bench: Walters Shaq Affelay Johnson Adam Erik Grant Surely the 442 experiment has to be over now? Our midfield isn't good enough to work with just two of them. Even less so now that Allen is out.

Hadn't realised Allen was out. Instead of Allen then put Afellay in.
I personally think the playing one up top experiment should be fuckide over! Not exactly prolific are we? Not swearing at you by the way, I am just so disillusioned by Hughes and Stoke at the minute.
We have to be positive and play two up top, albeit one off the other, against HULL AT HOME. Doing as you always do and expect a different result is the definition of insanity. Lock thup bastard up then if he rocks up and put an isolated figure up top.
I would put good money on Crouch playing in this one though if I am honest, so shit scared is Hughes.

There was a lot wrong with the system and the players who started for the Liverpool game.
I would a couple slight tweaks to that side due to injury and trying improve our ability to create and convert more chances.
Grant
Johnson Shawcross Indi Peters
Shaqiri Cameron Muinesa Sobhi
Arnie Berahino

Some decent, imaginative line ups being suggested. Unfortunately, they probably bear little resemblance to what Mark Hughes will deliver.

Experienced heads required for this " MUST NOT LOSE" game. I think Charlie and SJW will start with Crouch coming on midway thru 2nd half if we need a goal.

Grant Bardsley Shawcross Martins Indi Pieters Cameron Afellay Arnautovic Shaqiri Sobhi Berahino Subs: Given, Muniesa, Adam, Diouf, Imbula, Walters, Crouch My only change would be Muni for Pieters but other than that spot on. That front four would surely create chances This for me also. My preference would be Muni. As for Berahino, give him 60, but if he can't get himself in the game and we're struggling to break through then he needs to be sacrificed.
