Best quote from this morning's matches: team from freezing country whose international team is an irrelevance play out battling draw; with Canada. 😀😀😀

We weren't but if it was a qualifier would the team be much different? It'd have Stones in. And Sterling. That's it. That's where English football is. Full strength and playing that system we were missing the two you mentioned plus Kane, Rose, Jones, and Henderson at least. But they're not available (and Jones is shit). So ithe answer was it was us at pretty full strength with what we have available.

You have said that we have lost to a Germany B side and I'm suggesting that at the very least half of our first choice players are missing aswell. Being injured, or in your opinion "shit" is irrelevant.

We were hardly at full strength ourselves were we? We weren't but if it was a qualifier would the team be much different? It'd have Stones in. And Sterling. That's it. That's where English football is. What about Kane, he's our top striker?

--------------------------Hart------------------------ --------Keane------Smalling------Cahill-------- Walker----------------Dier----------------Rose -----------Lallana----Alli---------Sterling ------------------------Kane-----------------------
Build the attack around the Spurs boys I think really. Strong attacking fullbacks is one of the few areas England are blessed with at the moment so I'd use wing backs to make the most of their attacking qualities - with Dier screening the back 3 to shore it up - though the CB ranks aren't great to be using 3 - you could maybe insert Stones for Cahill. Having a central line of Dier, Alli and Kane looks tasty, though not particularly quick, so Lallana and Sterling either side of them to add a bit of zip.
But really - is this the best group of players England have? Jesus, if they couldn't win anything when they had Terry, Ferdinand, Cole, Neville, Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham and Owen then there's no hope in hell of this lot achieving anything

The way Kroos fooled Livermore with his subtlety made me wonder if we'd be out of our depth against the very best in tournaments (like Gullit and van Basten in 1988 against Bobby Robson's England), but still we might end up much more competitive than under Capello and Hodgson, and more entertaining too.

This generation of England players has the potential to be quarter finalists. Which by any historical measure is a decent result for England. There was a few hours in 1966 but that was the exception to prove the rule.

Thought there was lots to like about the performance too. Shame Lallana is nearly 29 - he's really growing as a player.

Wish they would fuck off singing that "were on our way" song, embarrassing. Including the loons who sing it at stoke games. We've had the full repertoire of cunty England fans tonight. Booing the anthem. 10 German bombers. That song. And the odd interlude by the bastard band. Yes and the ever seen a german win the war. Embarrasing. We need move on. If a foriegn country came over here and did that i would be in uproar. Im sure the veterans must be disgusted , they fought for freedom, not division

Can we beat them when it matters? 1918, 1945, 1966. We are way overdue.

I still believe that this group of players lead by the right man could make an impression on the world stage.
Whether Southgate is the right man only time will tell.
