What is our "position" ; The worst thing that has happened to Hughes during his tenure at Stoke is beating Liverpool 6-1. That was a fluke result and unlikely to be repeated for another half century, but it appears that it has become a bench mark for some people. People should take a look at the fortunes of Chelsea last season and Leicester this season, with the resources they had. Hughes has kept us in the top half of the table with much weaker resources. I believe he has earned our respect and patience to see what more he can deliver. I loved the Scouse demolition, but rarely will you get a curtain closer where Gerard and N'Zonzi {the two best players} are having their virtual testimonials, last day of the season, in the sun, nowt resting on it. I'm still gutted Muniesa gifted Gerrard his consolation. Seems to me the folk who're expressing the most dissatisfaction at the moment aren't really doing the math. Basing it on 2 false 9's and a false 6. Not on the reality. It was never really Stoke{a}lona, a clumsy word, snappy title, Bojan had a few good games.. the Arnie/Shaq/Crouch/Arnie goal vs Sunderland is as Stokelona as we've ever been.

So what is our natural position? I don't know if we have one. If clubs make the right signings they improve, if not they deteriorate. We could be as high as 7th or as low as 16th. I don't think we hit our ceiling, I think we fucked up an opportunity. I think we are exactly where we deserve to be ... as you say, somewhere between 16th and 7th. I can't honestly see us breaking into that top six but neither can I see us being relegated (we tend to be pretty steady). I think a consistent top-10 finish with the odd cup run could be the most that we will achieve until the money starts to even out more ...

5th or 6th utter rot. Makes me laugh how you consider yoursen to be the spokesman for the 'disaffected', give it a rest man. He's anothet crank spouting spurious rambles. Which translated into English means he's someone who holds a different point of view than the two of you.

You can not compare Stoke then and Stoke now, it's like saying Blackpool, bury and Bolton are still successful sides, what you can compare is the previous manager with this manager as they are both in this era,
And there is no difference, if you like Pulis or hate him he played it defensive, safe but boring, Hughes plays it with total abandon to defense which is dangerous and boring, unless you actually love seeing the goals go in against us of course and then you are in football heaven with us regularly conceding 4

We have the worst of both worlds at the moment, can't defend but also laboured and inept going forward. At least we are not losing many at home at the moment, tap on wood.

Yeah - We are in deep shit aren't we. I mean, the purchase of on of the best young English players to our ranks is a disaster isn't it. Arguably out best player in Arnie committing to the club for another 4 years. Things look really bad dont they. Get a grip FFS. Raise how good we have relative to even 10 years ago, then go to 15, 20 and so on. What the hell do you want? SGS For us not to have the main tactic of hoofing it to Crouch. That'd be nice. Stay away from my club. We dont need doom mongerers like you SGS
