A couple of posters have suggested that the Away fans should not be moved. However I thought there was an issue there with the fact that from the dressing rooms, and when walking out of the tunnel, the sound that is predominantly heard is that of the Away support in the Marstons Stand. This gives a boost to the away team and probably unsettles the home players a little. I am sure there is some sort of plan in place to reconfigure the seating layouts and put the Away support in the lower tier of the Novus Stand. This has the dual effect of reducing the psychological vocal effect of the Away support before the game, and gives the Stoke team the potential boost of having two goalmouth ends of Stoke support to play to.
With the corner being built in, is this important change not being implemented?

Nobody. Probably just used for people who want to move there and schools/giveaway tickets. The away fans shouldn't be moved imo Yes they should to block 19 of the Boothen Now so they are in the open corner so we get home fans next to the tunnel and into the New corner, with work going on along the A50 behind the Boothen end with a new access/slip road going in surely it's a no brainer to have away fans moved to block 19 and get them straight onto the A50 and away from the ground??

I'm sure someone clever can put up a pic on here of away fans sectioned off into block 19/20/21 for the Full allocation and the rest home fans all the way back to the tunnel via the New corner?

They won't change the away fans because of the access situation.

They won't change the away fans because of the access situation. If/when we do eventually build the final two corners at either end of the main stand (which would also mean relocating the club shop and offices) then I hope we'll relocate the tunnel and the changing rooms to the North West (Main Stand/Boothen) corner. The South West corner (where the tunnel is at the moment) could then become the "away corner" holding 2,500 away fans. As we'd have to offer 3,000 tickets that would mean another 500 away fans being located next to the corner in either the main stand (lower tier) or in the South Stand if the away club wanted the larger allocation. If safe standing were ever made legal then the lower tier of the away corner could be made safe standing which would raise the capacity of that corner to over 3,000 meaning that the extra 500 seats would not need to be provided. Sorted!

Tight? Are we building a new stand or a corner? Jesus, they've got 7 months to put in 1800 seats. I agree. I can't see why anyone would think there would be a problem in finishing the work by the beginning of August - barring flood famine or plague, of course. The footings are already in place and we are increasing the capacity of the stadium by less than 10%. I'd say the timetable is generous. I listened to an interview on Radio Stoke recently and I'm sure they couldn't find the footings.

My word, they haven't wasted any time have they! Embankment retaining wall pile-driving is significantly complete. They will need a traffic warden with all those "JCB" machines swarming all over the place. Well done builders!

Wouldn't we have to offer more away tickets as a percentage of the increased capacity or is 3,000 the current rule? 3,000 or 10% of capacity, whichever is smaller. (So basically any ground under 30,000 has to offer 10%, any ground over 30,000 offers 3,000) - (There are one or two exceptions where they'll be slightly below the number for one reason or another)

Apparently they cant find the existing footing so are having to start to put new one in if they uncover the existing footings it will bring the completion date forward, this is according to Scholes in an interview with radio Stoke. Gouranga. 100% truth, I always listen to Radio Stoke pre match as I am walking to the match and this is what was said (I think it was before the Everton match). Gouranga.

Defo true. Don't know what the knicker wetting is all about worrying about it being finished for start of next season. It only took 12 months to build what we have now !!

I wonder if Pulis knows where the footings are and is not saying. Maybe he moved the footings and they are looking in the wrong place, I bet they are somewhere near the centre circle...Gooooaaarrrrnnn John...

They did an exploratory dig to check the footings at the time they put in the planning application a few years ago - and they found them then, because they announced that they were in good condition. To find them then, cover them up, and lose them again takes some doing!

Away supporters should be placed at the worst possible place in the stadium. They should be stuck in the most un-hospitable area possible. Where they are now is perfect for away supporters. Typical Stoke stadium management.

We all know it'll be a last minute dash to get it finished and it wouldn't surprise me if by the first home game of next season parts afre still unfinished. I think I'm correct in saying that they got the safety certificate for the Brit about 2.5 hours before kick off of the first match. They were still putting the carpets down in the Waddington suite half an hour before the game.

It was an interview with Denise Coates fella and yes it was the Everton game, i was I'll and couldn't make the game.
Perhaps if we got Tony Robinson on the case (time team) we'd be fine. Farcical though if we can't find 20 tonnes plus of concrete, or have we buried the likes of Cameron under there, hmmmm.

One of those oversights that we regularly suffered under the old regime? No real big issue is it? The foresight of the current regime has obviously factored this in to the current build.

Typical Stoke stadium management. Whilst I agree pal from next season at least one block of away fans have to be situated pitch side at every premier league ground. I'm also of the opinion that somehow we have to fuck the away fans off from next to the tunnel, it really boils my piss.

I must be on my own here with the opinion of a roar is a roar. When the players come out it's just noise and clapping, all this "giving the away players a lift" is crap I reckon.

Apparently we've asked for our first six games to be away to this years top 6 on the basis
- our CEO couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery so the ground won't be finished , the shirts in the shop will be this seasons and the web site will have last years fixtures on it
- we lose most of the first 6 anyway
- allows a few games for our deadline day loan signings to settle in
